What would you consider WoW as a dying game or growing it seems it is getting a lot players but also using quite a few due to PS4, GTA or whatever just generally better games coming out instead of it, what do you think could it turn out like Runescape a dead game ran by bots?

I think WoW is dying but it will do so over the course of a slow time frame. If it ever does die completely I will be very sad though. It's true like you said that the new players aren't replacing the ones that are leaving... at least not fast enough. WoW is going to have to change and offer something new and Blizzard really should think about keeping their juggernaut of a game alive.

I'd say it's slowly dying though I am still playing actively mainly because every thing in that game can be found in other game with better graphic and let's not forget a lot of them are free to play, except the end game content seems to be lacking . I like the raiding in WOW and feel that other game end game content just doesn't motivate me as much.

I think its growing but then dying in the same instance like it will gain a few players than lose a lot due to as you said PS4 etc its hard to determine whether a game like WoW is losing players as you can't really go ahead and check everywhere well every little world.

Yes, now that someone mentions it the free to play aspect of many new games is really irking those who pay subscriptions. Many people though come back to WoW after trying new things because the original appeal of the new games fades. Even though most long time players of WoW would appreciate a legit change of pace either from WoW itself or another game.

It's going to bleed try of all the subscribers eventually. There is no doubt in that. But it's surprising that WoW is still the most subscribed game after all these years. Hats off to Blizzard for pulling it off.

Its dying at a slow pace compared to games like Runescape as you said but its still one of the most popular games still so i don't think it will die out straight away it will still be up in a few years.

I believe its growing many free games are shutting down or dying meaning players are looking for new games this is meaning they go to WoW instead of others as its the most known.

I feel like it may be dying. I know a lot of people that no longer play, I don't play nearly as much as I used to and may quit altogether before long. The game seems to be too much of the same, which get's boring and rather repetitive rather quick.

I would have to agree that it is dying as well. SLOWLY. As it is still at a point where it could lose half of it's player base and STILL be twice as big as any other game, I don't think the great demise is happening any time soon.

Having said that, with every expansion, the subscriptions skyrocket again. Just never quite as high as it did in the last expansion.

Personally, WoW was dead to me after the end of WOLTK. I honestly think most players stick to WoW because it's a habit and they are not really having any fun.

Slowly dying of course, I wouldn't say that people are leaving WoW because they don't like it but almost because they don't like the changes Blizzard are putting in place. Most of the people I personally knew who have quit migrated to a private server to play on, at least temporarily before quitting altogether.

I hate to say it, but with the latest expansions WoW is dying. The game has been continuously losing its fanbase over the last years. It's a shame.

Slowly decreasing in numbers, but not dying. If it is dying it's doing a great job at going out well, it has plenty of subscribers - many times more than some other big MMO's. Cough cough SWTOR cough.

It has tonnes of content and is constantly updated, I think that the game will decrease to maybe a few million players who will be enough to keep the servers occupied and full, and lapping up the content that Blizzard makes.

Damn it is nearly 10 years old and was and still is a huge success! I have quit playing WoW in 2008 and didn't expect it to last so long as it was thought the game has peaked by then and was on decline.

Anyway how many expansions were there since WotLK? I think EQ 1 alone has over 20 now and it is 5 years older than WoW and is still alive!

I don't think that the game is dying fast, but from everything I hear it sounds like their player base is getting smaller. It will probably be a long time before it dies off completely, but no game is really going to last forever and eventually it's not going to be the kind of game that people are looking for any more.

No, WOW will never die :) . The glory period ended, but there are millions of players that still enjoy the Azeroth world. The new Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor expansion will offer the players new reasons to remain faithful to Blizzard.

I think WoW is slowly dying. They always tell you how it's the biggest MMO with over 7 millon subscribers, but they don't tell you that they used to have 12 million during WOTLK. The new expansions are rather boring, and if they don't anything to improve the game, I'm pretty sure it'll die in a few years.

The subscriber population is dying slowly, but the number of people working on the game is increasing. and if the last expansion is any indication, the amount of content we are getting is getting faster. They are still making like a billion dollars a year on WOW so it isn´t like they need to cut the dev team.

When I start getting a sense that the dev team is shrinking, then I will consider it dying overall... but they are hiring more people now than they ever have. I think at best, they will be able to hold subscribers where it is now, very little chance of growth.. but it doesn´t have to grow to still be very very profitable.

WoW is dying slowly but surely. I think its been dying since Cataclysm and maybe even the very end of Wrath honestly. It's sad, but it is an amazing feat ALONE to have existed for 10 years and done really well in all of those years. Some of the best times of gaming in my life existed in WoW, but sadly it is all coming to a close.
