Good thing that the developers have made this contest. The one lucky winner will have his life changed and all he did was to play ESO. Crazy but really cool.

Well, if they can afford to shell out 1 million bucks to someone, then I would say, good, lol.

 

They will probably make a good part of the money back just from box sales because of it.

I agree, I've been playing ESO since it came out, but haven't spent a lot of time on there as of late. I think that 3,000,000 crowns would inspire a lot more game time, for sure!

As for your question, it really depends on what about it intrigues you. I love to explore and get off of the storyline a bit, just to see what's out there. It's a really great game for wandering off and doing your own thing, but at the same time, there are a lot of benefits to linking up with random people you meet when something is too difficult to do solo. I personally play mostly solo, but I'd still consider the game worth it either way. You never really run out of things to do, and it's a gorgeous game to boot. I can't speak much about the PvP experience or running through dungeons, but I haven't heard anything awful about them, so I'd wager that you'd enjoy it once you've found your groove.

 

I've been looking to get into this game ever since it came out, but I've been hearing some pretty bad stuff about it back then...
It looks like they fixed most of the issues when they went buy to play though, I might just try it now.
The prize is obviously just a bait to get more players in, but still it will be nice for whoever wins!

Bethesda is swimming in money anyway, Skyrim sold at least 15 million units. This is probably done to raise popularity.

 

Wow, that is a lot of money to just play a game. Of course, it reminds me of a game that tried this type of thing before...oh, it was called Advent Rising. Man, that was a long time ago and I still have that game (recently excavated from the back of my closet in an old shoe box).

 

I remember Advent Rising. It was a mediocre game IIRC, and it failed spectacularly.

 

It's been a while since I've logged onto ESO. I guess this is a good reason to come back.

Damn, that's a lot of money to be made just for playing a video game. I'm surprised that the developers/publishers are giving out so much money, but then again, the game probably had huge success!

 

Very interesting, thats a very generous giveaway from a great company! I became interested after WOW and FF started to become stale and boring and Guild Wars was lacking in content. I turned to ESO and was pleasantly surprised and was hooked by the game. The graphics and gameplay mechanics are top notch and the story is very engrossing. The game is not p2w at all, the Crowns are a source of in game currency that can be used in order to buy cosmetics or cute animal companions to follow you around in game. I would definitely recommend picking up this game and I will definitely be entering this contest!
