Have you ever thought like "that's it for me, I'm done with Minecraft"? I've been thinking about quitting for good for some time now but seems like I can't get rid of the game. I still get in and play from time to time.

When I first began exploring my new world, I was hyped! I was sure I would never stop playing it! How could one? There is so much you can do! But after a year or two, I became bored. My computer was quite slow, so I could only play on a small server with a few of my friends, bigger servers would cause too much lag. Since there were not many players around, I would oftentimes be all alone on the server. Simply put, it became boring. So i quit. It was more of a hiatus, since I was back up and running a few months later. This time, I had a brand new laptop and I could play on any server! So I decided to pick up deathgames! It was great fun! But it soon became boring, so I left minecraft, again. It's summer now, so I'm back, starting a new survival world, hoping to not get bored too soon!

No I will never quit playing minecraft. It's part of my life by now. I'm not saying that I play constantly everyday, but it's something I enjoy doing. I can express my creativity by it. I enjoy many other games,
but this one currently and in the past is one of my VERY favourites and I doubt that I will ever ever quit
playing it. It's too good and I have just put so much effort into it for the past few years while playing.

I have generally relegated Minecraft to just be a game I play from time to time, not playing it regularly. For me it was just the lack of new content, new updates add little gameplay, and the updates are few and far between.

I have not even started. I need to start playing. I have heard so much about the game, but I have not played it at all. Is the game pretty good? I heard that it is addictive. I would like to start playing though to see how it is. I may get it on my android to see how it is. I love trying new games, so this is one that I am going to try and play who knows it may become my new addiction.

The game is very good, beware - you will probably lose dozens of hours into playing this game, even when you are done playing regular Minecraft, there are several good mod packs that you can play, and lose dozens of hours into again! The pocket edition is fairly good, but to me it doesn't compare with the PC version of Minecraft though. Hope you have fun in Minecraft!

I used to play way too much and it was getting in the way of other things I wanted to do. So I took a break from Minecraft for a while to pursue other endeavors. After a while I was able to come back to Minecraft and enjoy it again.

Well, I run servers on and off. I've been running this one for 7 months which is the longest so far (and I have no plans to stop running it), but before this one, I would run the server for a few months, then I'd just stop playing minecraft completely for a few weeks, then I'd play on other servers for a while, then decide I could run my own server a lot better, then after running my own server for a while, I'd get bored and stop running the server. (I'm not going to stop the server this time because it's too popular and that's not really fair on the people that use it)

Only two reason would make me want to quit something:

    1) If the current game has become something not enjoyable.

    2) If I am addicted to the game and it takes away time from doing other things like work, wife, parents, health, friends, etc.

So as MC stands in my life right now, it only makes up roughly just under 5% of my weekly things to do. I don't play it every day and sometimes, I don't play for a month or more, but there is no reason to quit it forever.

Well, I ususally stop playing games when I finish the story. I tried to play Bioshock Infinite again, but because it's so story based, it just wasn't that good.

Not to be offensive or anything like that, but that reason is pretty obvious. My response had to do with games that has no real ending or games that have replay value. Eg: I have reinstalled Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim multiple times because they have replay value. Games like Bioshock Infinite bored me actually, though the mechanics and the visuals were gorgeous. I couldn't enjoy it as much as I did with the first two games and eventually quit about midway through the game.

Games that have a linear-story and mostly linear-game play don't really count in my books as games that can be replayed or has lasting value.

Yeah, I know it was obvious, but it still wasn't mentioned anywhere else, so I thought it might be worth mentioning.

Well yeah, a few times I have thought quitting when I accidently burnt down some of my pixel art that took ages to make, but then I always get over it once I start making another piece of art.

Yeah, if I was just too addicted to MineCraft I would probably just delete it or deactivate my account or something, but I have the mental willpower to do it without deleting it or something else.

Yes, it is a great game. Yes you can get addicted to it, but even if you do get addicted to it and bored of it, just take a break and once you come back to the game, you will enjoy it again.

No, I hardly ever thought of that, there's unlimited things that you can do where I am still in the process of trying to improve my creative builds in the game. The game is always updating and my goal is to keep up with the program.

Yes, but only when I've been playing it for an obsessive amount of time.

Even then I only really take a break from it. It's only a game, and I don't think I need to seriously consider quitting it. After all, I did pay for it, might as well get the most fun and time out of my investment. ;)

I take a lot of breaks, but I've never thought to myself that I would permanently quit the game.

I'm not sure if you can really apply "that's it I'm quitting" to a game, maybe to an addiction, but to a game? It depends on the person, obviously, but no, I haven't ever said anything like that to myself.
