Fake soul gem quest issue

    I got the fake soul gem from ajira, i went to put it inside galebdirs desk but ended up dropping it on the floor by the time i could retrieve it she was back behind me and , i can not seem to get her to go back down the stairs. ive tried everything, left and come back, slept, went back to try to talk to ajira again, left and went to another town and came back, even cut the system off and back on again ! nothing has helped so far, Does anyone have an idea of what i could try?
