I've read a lot of controversy about this topici n other places, so I'm curious. A lot of people consider New Vegas to be the "true" successor of the previous games, instead of FO3. What's your opinions, guys? I personally enjoyed NV a lot more, I can't even tell why. The story, the setting, I have no idea. It just got a grasp on me that Fallout 3 didn't have.
I have only played New Vegas and since my games kept getting deleted for various reasons, I gave up but my boyfriend is really into the series and always talks about them and what you can do. Personally, overall it sounds like Fallout 3 was a lot more fun and unique.
I enjoyed New Vegas a lot more than Fallout 3. I couldn't really get into Fallout 3, although I did enjoy exploring the map and running away from all the creatures Gambling was a fun addition in New Vegas, and I enjoyed the map and storyline better in it.
Fallout New Vegas was too easy of a game, and it felt short to me for some reason. Fallout 3 on the other hand was a masterpiece, I played that game so much I nearly lost my job. I'll still play it every so often whenever I feel like traversing the wasteland once more.
I enjoyed Fallout 3 more I felt more of an attachment to the characters and I don't know why, but for me New Vegas was still a great game and still had fun playing it!
I know that both games were similar in their setting and tones, but I felt a sort of nice vibe with Fallout 3 rather than New Vegas. I think it stems from the fact that I probably spent more time with Fallout 3 than New Vegas; anyways both were awesome games in their own right and are one of the premier RPGs ever created.
New Vegas I think has the most excitement in it if i'm honest I get goosebumps sometimes playing New Vegas since its quite tense at some parts where as Fallout 3 I had no feelings like this on 3 I pretty much hated it.
I liked New Vegas more, it was partially made by the original development team of Fallout 2. It had much grittier atmosphere and better dark humor, one thing I didn't like was the unrealism of the Caesar faction. Like what the hell? How could a faction like that rise to power after a nuclear fallout, who the hell would join it?
Hard to say, I felt Fallout 3 to have a better atmosphere as a post-apocalyptic environment and had a much much stronger intro/beginning, New Vegas was better in every way but it just didn't have the same feel to me, everything felt so empty.
Fallout 3 had me hooked like very few games. I loved the storyline and the quests. The players that followed you around. It was different. New Vegas was just as cool, and kept me hooked in the same way, but since Fallout 3 was the first, I've got to give it the nod.
I loved NV. It was very well done, I loved the atmosphere and most of the factions were interesting. The only problem I had with it was the boss fight against the leader of the Legion, that just wasn't done so well.
Fallout 3 was much much more enjoyable for me. I don't know why but I just couldn't really get into New Vegas. I don't like the brown color palette and I didn't like how most of the world was just plain desert. I preferred Fallout 3's green tint and urban ruins, and the world just seemed so much darker and frightening. New Vegas.... I don't really know how to describe how it made me feel other than bored. I felt that Fallout 3 also had a much more interesting story, settings, and enemies.
I played Fallout 3 and haven't tried New Vegas yet, but from what my friends say, Fallout 3 was the better one?? I like how the palette of Fallout 3 is green and all, much better than a yellowish brown than in New Vegas. Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 are both worth a try, but from personal experiences and a bit of bias I would have to say Fallout 3 would be my choice of game here.
I think Fallout 3 had a better feel to it. The atmosphere was more defined and consistent, however New Vegas's gameplay was more fluid and seemed to be a bit more refined in general.
The story and theme is better in Fallout 3 and the mechanics and options were better in Fallout New Vegas. I guess it depends on your preferences but for me it's going to have to be Fallout 3. It was the first one I played of the series and I put way more time in it than Fallout New Vegas.
After I finish my Skyrim play through and my next project I think I will do Fallout 3 with mod it's been way to long since I played this game.
I prefer Fallout 3's settings and Add-Ons. Content wise, Fallout New Vegas was better to some extent. I honestly prefer Fallout 3 but I know New Vegas is a better game all in all
New Vegas was better in terms of story and overall weapons. I thought Fallout 3's main story was WAAAAAAAY too easy and fast. I finished it faster then any other main story in any other bethesda game it was quite silly. I also thought that killing off a certain person later in the game was a cheap and cliche way of making the player give a crap about the struggle against the enclave.
I'm thinking about getting FO3. I already beat New Vegas and thought it was ok, but felt a little... empty. Can't wait to see if 3 is any better.
Fallout 3 is the definite winner in my opinion. New Vegas was a bit to boring for me. I did like the fact that you can use your weapons iron sights if it had some, a major factor that was missing in Fallout 3. But yes Fallout 3 is the better game in my book.
