Fallout 4. Im a huge fallout fan. (well mostly relating to fallout 3 and new vegas, i havent played the others.) but even though it has many glitches and flaws i find it a great game. Fallout 3 was actually the first video game where i got slightly emotional after the character dies and the other characters die sicne u get so attached to them. So right now there is not current info about fallout 4 as of being released. But if u have any info about it or u just wanna talk about fallout 4 ideas and stuff then feel free to post here! :D

Fallout 3 and New Vegas were some of my favorite games, and the first and second are pretty damn good. Rumors say the next will be set in San Francisco, that's about all I've heard. There better be Dogmeat though....

I heard it was in chicago but I took a quick look at the wiki and well no real news there only that the mojave was mentioned.
But I think San Francisco could be a real nice wasteland.
And yes dogmeat HAS to be in it and not some robobrain dog.

I played the first fallout back in '97, and it's currently the only game I have installed on my laptop haha. Always been one of my favorites, I was so elated when I first found out Bethesda would be re-vamping the series. Especially since they had just released Oblivion, which was more or less the forefront of modernized RPG's. I hope that Fallout 4 will use the engine used to make Skyrim. If so, I'll never leave the house again...

If Orcidea says it's gonna be in San Francisco, it HAS to be in San Francisco! Kidding, but Chicago would be sweet as well. My sister lives there, seeing the baseball stadiums, and all the skyscrapers would be fantastic. Imagine New York! Ah, the possibilities.

Seattle: even after nuclear holocaust, it will still rain.

To be honest, when I heard there was minimal damage to New Vegas from the nuclear strikes, I was (and still am) pretty pissed. Fallout is all about exploring the ruins of a post-apocalyptic area and New Vegas just didn't capture that.

If they put New Vegas' weapons into Fallout 3 I'd be the happiest guy alive. Anyways, San Fran will be awesome, especially the Golden Gate bridge. Hopefully they reveal something at E3!

^ I agree. Fallout 3 was great for that ruined wasteland feel. I still play it, as well as New Vegas. (Also, if you're on PC and you have them both you can get a mod to make them into one game - you can start at either the NV or FO3 beginning and go to both areas, and can do all the quests. It's pretty awesome.)

New Vegas was just too much desert, which would've felt dead and empty even before the war. It just didn't feel like there had ever been a war at all - just a bunch of factions at each others throats in a desert post-apocalyptic-like setting.

Now, for Fallout 4: I don't really care that much where it is set, as long as there is no more desert. All I really want to see is (mainly) urban areas with a city to run around and explore that is actually a city - not just a few ruined buildings in one or two streets. I'd love it to be set in New York, to be honest.

I agree with Strelok, but! They could fit that in by having FO 4 take place in Cali, and have a DLC where someone is offering boat trips to the big island, reminiscent of Point Lookout (The best DLC for FO 3 in addition to The Pitt...)

    Just an idea

that wud be interesting but then again its hard to believe that 200 years after a nuclear war that they can swim on a boat ovre 1000 miles to hawaii. well idk. if they make it into a hawaii area i think itd be cool if it was located on oahu, maybe in the waikiki area. And have DLC's that go around the island. Northshore, Waimea Bay, Coastal Mountains, Wauluaua Valley, etc.

The author of Metro 2033 brought up a good question. Basically: "why hasn't Fallout been expanded to the point where there are books, comics, games in different countries, etc.", and I think he raises a good point. Fallout in Hong Kong, or London would be amazing.

I think that fallout was mostly revelaed in the western countries mainly. While metro was in europe AND the US. so it had more of a reputation.

Yeah, it would be nice to have Fallout 4 in China or Japan, make it very different.

I've actually thought about writting a Fallout book since I've currently replaying fallout with all dlc and pile of mods and it have given me ideas. I'm also writting a Stalker novel as a school project which have given me experience in writting long stories.

Strelok, could you send me a chunk of your STALKER novel? I love reading other people's work, especially when it is in the same genre that I write in!

If it's too much work then don't feel the need to dude, send me a pm! and I'm sorry for diverting the subject of discussion.

Back on Topic: What was everyone's favorite DLC? Mine was The Pitt, just because it captured that classic Fallout feel, like straight out of the Boneyard from FO 1. After that, I'd have to say Point Lookout, just because of the completely changed atmosphere, so eerie and murky.

I'd really like to read your stuff when you complete it. I've been thinking of writing a novel as well, and it would be about what the surviving armed forces of the U.S. would do after a nuclear war.
