Fallout 4's Story Will Be "Kept Under Wraps"?

If we're being honest with ourselves, we live in an age where leaks of information are everywhere. It is to the extent that many key things about certain video games can be spoiled before they've even been scheduled to be revealed (looking at you Smash Bros.). For Bethesda, and their upcoming Fallout 4 title, they know that very well and have thus been on lockdown about key parts of their game. This goes especially for the story, which we only know a little bit about, and even then that's bare bones. So will we know more before the launch? Not if Pete Hines is to be believed, as he noted during a live demo:
“I would be stunned if we said anything else about the story ever again [prior to launch]. We’re going to let everybody experience that in the game as much as possible. But there are certain trade-offs you have to make to build some amount of awareness to what the game is offering, so you’re willing to make some sacrifices.”
Sacrifices indeed! But are you ok with that? I mean, I get why they're doing it. But do you think they should really maybe a little bit more?

I think they're trying to make the story as much as a surprise as possible. The whole concept of someone who knew life before the Fallout waking up into life 300 years after is already interesting enough to get people to play. I don't mind Bethesda trying to keep as mum as possible on the story.

Good, probably a lot of twists then and shit that would get ruined if we knew about it beforehand I am guessing.

I like it when the story is kept under wraps, I really dislike it when a lot of the story is known before a game releases. I mean, leaks I can understand, shit happens, but sometimes the developers willingly share way too much information. Less is better.

It is a good thing that they won`t spoil us beforehand or let parts of the story leak. I am sure the story will be a good one, if they learned their lesson from the disaster that was Fallout 3`s main story. And I also think that the fact that the main character is 200 years old, is also a huge part of the main story.

Bethesda is good at creating lore but have been very hit and miss with holding together a main story (with few exceptions) so it might be for the best to keep things wrapped for now. So far I'm intrigued so I hope Bethesda will show that they have been getting better in the story department.

I wouldn't handle a tease from them so I'm kind of grateful that they keep the story for themselves. I don't think they should spoil a lot of it, we'll get to see it when the game releases.

I found their handling of the established Fallout lore in 3 to be kinda problematic, though. Not that FO3 is bad or anything, I certainly liked it, but it felt like it had some lore discrepancies and ass-pulls from what was established in FO1/2. I can understand why for some things (game was originally meant to be set closer to the war, they wanted to keep certain notorious Fallout elements even though the game was set in another Coast, etc) but it still bothers me.

I hope that FO4 handles the lore better, though what's done is done and FO4 will probably merely build upon what FO3 established...
