Everyone has a favorite class and/or play style in MMORPGs. I started out as a healer (my husband's recommendation because he thought I wouldn't enjoy melee - boy was he wrong!). I spent my first 2 years as a Resto Shaman, and then got my first Death Knight and got a taste of melee DPS and never looked back. I even changed my Shaman from Resto to Enhancement but decided I liked my DK better.

These days I actually really like the Paladin the best, mainly because I can do a lot of melee DPS while also being able to self-heal. So, that makes Paladin my current favorite class, although in general I like all melee DPS classes - warrior, death knight, paladin, even rogue (although they are my least favorite). I probably like them because they don't take a lot of skill to play in PvE. In PvP is an entirely different matter and I'm not very skilled at PvP combat. It's just not my thing and probably never will be.

So what's your favorite play style (melee dps, ranged dps, healing, tanking?) and class?

When I first started WoW, I didn't know what I wanted to play in terms of class and play style. I had a story in my head and I wanted to create a toon based on that story. Once I started and leveled up a bit, I found that an Undead Warrior was really tough to play. It just wasn't my cup of hot cocoa. So I started a Marksman Hunter and I fell in love with it. Back then, talents were complicated and they were exactly the way I liked it - not like the dumbed down stuff that came out since Cataclysm.

When WotLK came out, I started a Shaman and thought that I would like to heal one day. So I leveled a Restoration Shaman from level 1 to level 80. It was long, but I had high survivability. I learned a lot that way. Then when I hit level 80, I took a secondary spec for Elemental. I found that Elemental was super fun playing PvP. I was decent healing in Heroics and Raids, but I fared the best doing DPS and utility support in PvP.

With my Protection Paladin in PvP, it's hilarious watching the enemy try to bring me down. Imagine 3-4 Alliance up against me in full gear protection gear. Though I have to admit, it's also quite boring to play one for PvP.

Had to say with the new changes to the game with the launch of WOD. Before wod top three: balance druid. The power of a beam chicken is just amazing. Shadow priest. They are amazingly durable, slippery, and do a decent amount of damage. Brew master monk . Brew masters are amazing tanks, I love the animations of their attacks, the tossing barrels like donkey kong, and a fire breath. Spinning crane kick. Just woah.

I have tried playing with different classes, but Paladin suited me the best. I feel more connected to my character this way.

Protection paladin is usually my main, but now that I feel a bit overwhelmed in dungeons and raids, I think I'll switch to a warlock.

I pretty much use every class on a somewhat regular basis. i don't have a problem with any of them, nor do I have a preferred class above the rest. I'm a weird player like that, I guess.

Favourite class is probably Feral druids, right now they deal tons of DPS. They were also my first class because I loved the fact you could morph in to a flying mount and seal type. Was an amazing thing for me.

In WoW I generally stick to DPS since it's what I'm best at. Healing and tanking in WoW isn't really my kind of thing despite that in other games I tend to go tank. It's just really the mechanics of the game. I play Moonkin Druid since there's a lot of good support that other classes can't offer, which is great in raids. Also the Moonkin play mechanics are extremely fun, and they were at their best in Cata.

I love playing a druid, especially bear/cat because they share gear. I enjoy tanking LFD 5-mans once they become easy. I am a very fast and efficient tank, so usually can get them done quickly no matter how bad the DPS is.

I also like healing on my druid mainly for LFR. Again, once people know what they are doing, healing LFR is almost like going afk.. no real effort.

The diversity of the druid lcass it was makes it the best for me.

I have always been very partial to sorcerers, necromancers or mages. Even as a diablo 1 player my character of choice was a sorcerer. I love magic and spells. Out of the 3 I have listed my favorite would be necromancer, magic with the aded ability to raise the dead to fight for you. OOOH yea you gotta love that.

My best play style is always a ranged DPS that also has healing capabilities -- I excelled with my retribution paladin. I absolutely love being able to deal great amounts of damage yet being able to protect myself and hold my own without a full-blown healer. A lot of people hate pally's since they have the "bubble" ability, which I admit can get annoying... but it always saved my ass when I needed to fall from a long ways. I would just jump and bubble!

I prefer playing a rogue-like character, either an assassin or a marksman. Something about sneaking around in the dark really peaks my interest.
