So as the title says what was your guys favorite generation? Mine would be the first, specifically because of pokemon Yellow, loved my little pikachu :p
Edit: Well I messed up the poll and entered to early, so just comment the answers!

I'm starting to sound like a broken record, because I keep saying this, but it seems to fit all questions. My favorite generation by far is the fourth one (Diamond, Pearl and Platinum), because Diamond was the first Pokemon game I've ever played. After playing all of them, I can still say that Platinum had the biggest variety of cities and activities, and I feel that it also had the best end-game: it had the Battle Zone, the legendary hunt, the Pal Park and much more.

While my favorite region is definitely Kalos, my favorite generation in terms of gameplay & Pokemon was the second gen - Johto. The remakes especially were the best ever, plus it had my favorite rival and favorite set of starters. So many great additions to the Pokemon species at that time too; after that I don't feel like the next gens were bad, just that they steadily went a tad bit downhill from there. I loved first gen too but Johto was the best, and I put tonnssss of hours into both the original Gold and the HG remake.

Red,Blue, Green all the way ! I would have never been passionate with pokemon if they didn't exist.. The blast I had when I first grabbed my portable console and start playing those games was just unthinkable.. those were really good times..

My favorite is definitely the first generation. I liked the anime the best when it was centered around just the 151 pokemon, and something about the games makes me like them really much too. I think it was the fact that there was much less pokemon to catch, so "catching 'em all" was actually possible. I think there were some patches that allowed you to obtain all 151 in one game, but I never gave them a try.

The first generation was the best, no doubts. Later generations were simply confuse because so many new pokemons were added to the PokeDex and you wouldn't know a thing, think about pokemon is still ongoing, how many pokemons are there by now? I guess they are thousands.

Second generation takes the cake for me. The first is incredible, and the second manages to build upon that, and improve it in a way that makes sense. As we're getting into the 5th and 6th generations, the pokemon just seem contrived. I think the creators are running out of ideas and it's pulling from the integrity of the series.

I would love to see an innovative plot without adding any new pokemon. At this point, I don't think we need anymore! There's plenty to train and collect, and they're getting a little silly with the newer ones.

My favorite generations were the 1st and 2nd generations. Pokemon Yellow and Silver were definitely played the most during childhood. I felt like every Pokemon was perfect and that everything in the game was just how it was suppose to be. I'm not a big person on change in video game series, unfortunately. :p

No option for Gen III? My generation grew up on Gen III, and it's my favorite, without a doubt.

2nd generation without a doubt. IT has the nostalgic tint of the 1st gen but with more Pokemon and good graphics that could beat out the 3rd gen which I found is becoming really complicated. I like the classic early 2000s stuff.
