What mods do you guys use? I personally don't use content mods (i.e. mods that introduce new mobs, items, blocks, etc.) due to their incompatibility with other mods – light clientside mods and visual mods are my favorite!

Here's a (rather extensive) list of what I use:

    ChatLog
Puts chat into a handy HTML file (with colors!) for future reference.

    OptiFine
Includes FPS optimization and HD texture support.

    VoxelMap
A minimap mod with a mob radar and waypoints.

    MapWriter
Another minimap mod – although it does not have a mob radar, chunks that your client loads will be saved permanently (VoxelMap only renders chunks currently loaded) – great for playing on servers with large maps.

    WorldEditWrapper
A mod that allows you to use the popular WorldEdit server plugin clientside. WorldEdit is designed for large-scale building and allows you to copy and paste large amounts of blocks.

    WorldEditCUI
Allows you to see your WorldEdit selection clientside. Useful if you often forget where your selection is.

    Karyonix's Shader Mod
Adds high-quality shaders to Minecraft. May include DoF, wavy plants, shadows, godrays, etc. (requires further installation of shaderpacks).

    Dynamic Lights
Fixes some of Minecraft's lighting issues. You will emit light while holding a torch, burning mobs emit light, etc.

    Macro / Keybind Mod
Helps you manage your keybindings and macros. I find that it's really convenient, especially due to how many mods I use.

These mods require Minecraft Forge and LiteLoader to play.

Recently, I've been preferring just to play Feed The Beast or Tekkit. I don't need to constantly update or install huge amounts of mods, and the sheer amount of content is keeping me entertained at all times. Playing PvP with custom Tinkers' Construct gear is probably the most fun I've had since release

I've been playing on a One Piece server recently, so Mine Mine no Mi and Archimedes ship mod are the two most prevalent mods.

The best one is definitely Optifine. Whenever it's out, I try to get it ASAP simply because of the performance boost. I notice a significant amount of lag reduction because of this mod. Quite a promising mod for those who don't have a super fancy gaming PC with 100 FPS on every game on max settings.

My favorite mod is the Divine RPG. It adds tons of new mobs, weapons, ores, etc..
