favorite Zelda game

Discussion in 'The Legend of Zelda' started by doctorimpossible, Dec 24, 2013.

  1. What is your absolute favorite Zelda game?

My favorite Zelda game has got to be twilight princess. I absolutely loved that game. I justed adored the color scheme throughout the game. They just gave a nice feel to the game. I also really loved the ability to switch between the wolf and link.
Sadly I felt the plot let us down a little.

    What do you guys think?

    Majora's Mask hands down.

To this day I'm still waiting on Nintendo to re-launch that title like they did for Ocarina of Time.

YES. I would buy that in a heartbeat if they re-released Majoras Mask for 3DS.

Oracle of Ages by far is my favorite LoZ game in the whole collection of them but Windwaker is a close second and Twilight a proper third. I really quite enjoyed the whole feeling of Ages and might like it more simply because it came out when I was younger and have played it through the years. What surprises me is that quite a few people I talk to that say they love LoZ and have played most or every game seem to not even know that Ages and Seasons exist.

I only liked two games TRULY fondly for Zelda. One of which everyone seemed to hate, that's Zelda 2: The adventure of link. And the other one I like is Zelda: A link to the past.

These are the only two Zelda games I ever truly enjoyed. That goes to show you just how long it's been since I liked Zelda since those are NES and SNES games respectively.

For me it would be Spirit Tracks. Princess Zelda is actually playable in this game and she is no longer the damsel in distress. And trains! I love the Soul Train!

I had the legend of zelda the wind waker for gamecube. I played that game a lot. The Zelda games take some time to beat, I guess that's why there still popular.

I have to say that my favorite one, so far, is Hyrule Warriors. I only got the chance to play one other Zelda game and that was Windwaker, however, I wasn't that big on it. I love that it's a beat'em game with some of the heroes from previous games.

While others may not be a big fan of this one, YET, I think it'll be one of the unique titles that will get listed as a much buy game for Nintendo Wii U.

Definitely Majora's Mask for me. What I enjoy generally about all the Zelda games I play are the puzzles and its intricacies, and just how well-made they are. But ultimately what pulls me in is the storyline and the overall feel/aesthetic of the game. Majora's had such a unique, quirky, creepy outlook and its own detailed mythology. The 3-day system fits perfectly to the impeding doom you feel while playing the game. I just wish it had been a bit longer but nonetheless it was a very satisfying experience all around.

In my opinion, my favourite was Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time, for the nintendo 64. Maybe it was because of the graphics, when the game was on sale, everyone was shocked with that huge world in 3d, and the soundtrack, and maybe because it was my first Zelda.

I also enjoy a lot twilight princess, and Skyward sword was cool too, but I haven't finished that last one (someday... :3).

Naturally, due to my love of slightly creepy things like it, I'd have to go with Majora's Mask. The theories behind it, the creepypasta to go along with it, the game itself, and that scary moon hurdling towards you all the while make for a fun game to both play and talk about.

My favourite Zelda game was also Majora's Mask! I like the way that you can obtain a large assortment of unique masks--most of which have a purpose or function within the game, and one that you need to figure out. I found the transformations in this game, particularly, to be of interest to myself. Additionally, I liked the soundtrack for the game--especially as it began to approach the evening of the 3rd day. As another user mentioned above, the moon hurtling towards you on the final day was also rather neat.

    My ranking would be:

    1. Majora's Mask
    2. Wind Waker
    3. Ocarina of Time
    4. Skyward Sword
    5. A Link to the Past

Honorable mentions: Link's Awakening, Oracle of Ages/Seasons

For me The Minish Cap on the GBA. For it had the right balance of exploration, challenging combat and nice side-game with the kin-stone pieces. It was the first Legend of Zelda game I played and definitely the best game I have played on the GBA. But because I first played a LoZ on a portable console I just cant settle in to the ones on a home console for some reason.

Majora's Mask, by far. I loved Ocarina of Time as a kid, but I find it sort of dated these days. Not so Majora. It takes a lot of the good stuff from Ocarina and layers on a bunch of extra-awesome stuff. What I like most, though, is that there's less focus on dungeon-delving and more on exploration and wandering around the overworld. I've never particularly liked the dungeons in Zelda games, beyond the boss battles. (And Majora has some awesome boss battles.)

Also? Dat moon. I love the sense of impending doom.

This is such a tough decision for me... The Legend of Zelda is the first game I really got into, and the first game I ever beat. A Link to the Past just blew me away as a kid, and I've played that game so much over the years... pure gaming addiction. But then there's Ocarina of Time, which to me is as near perfect a game as you can get...

Ocarina of Time is still my favprice. I'm willing to admit it is probably 99% nostalgia, but I still love it. I make a point to play through it once a year to this day.

I'm going to have to say Wind Waker. Majora's Mask holds a very special place in my heart, but I absolutely fell in love with Wind Waker's art style and general feel. Even by today's standards, it's such a gorgeous game. The ONLY complaint that I have with Wind Waker is the lack of dungeons toward the late game. You can practically feel when they're cut out. Even so, really amazing game.
