How is this game? My friend Zack has been playing it and he likes it a lot. I'm looking to get into a decent MMO and to be honest GW2 was fun but it didn't grasp me the way I thought it would and I lost interest pretty fast. How is FF14? Is it worth the subscription fee? Would I be better getting it on PC or wait til I have a PS4 and buy it for that? Anyone who plays, I need your input. :)

I also lost interest in GW pretty fast but FF14 so far looks interesting.I am curious how the patches would be because they make it sound like they are gonna add more jobs and classes so I wonder if they gonna add it through patches or they gonna wait for an expansion. I'd rather play it on PC if my PC can handle it.

I am playing it on PC and PS3. I have to say it is a fully playable game compared to the fail launch piece of crap in 2010. I have many friends who are addicted to this game, I am just playing it casually.

I tested the beta on PS3, and I can confirm that the game is rather nice. Too bad the communication is difficult to PS3 controller.

On the PC, I had fun too, but I would not pay a subscription. Tell me if it's worth it ... The game seems to be really nice. One of the most beautiful MMORPG I've played in my life.

What I do know is that the OST is magical! From what I've heard, Nobuo Uematsu has done a great job on this game

Is this is a good community? I'm a fan of Final Fantasy and it would be fun to talk about our passion about this game with other players.

    Anyway, I will return one day ... maybe .. :D :D :D

I never played it, but from what I have seen it looks like a good MMO, but I would never play it just because I am not big into P2P games since money for me is tight with college and all.

The game has a good presentation and probably solid mechanics but there is something about the Final Fantasy games since the PSX era that has felt so generic and bland. It's just not for me anymore.

I really enjoyed the game until I started to get into the mid to late 20s level-wise. It started to become a real grind after that, and while I was still interested in the story it took too much effort to progress, and the things I was doing to make that progress weren't entertaining enough.

I've heard they really really did a great reboost of this game after people initially complained about the previous trial of it. I played the original and it was extremely difficult to move around in, and did not trigger any sense of exploration in me. Being a huge fan of FFXI, I look for a great and familiar place to call home, so I have somewhere to return to with my booty after long raids and leveling.

I never played the original, but the reboot is definitely a playable MMO. Even enjoyable, if you like some of the things that it does that are typical of the genre. I've just lost a lot of my patience for MMOs that want you to do really repetitive things just to be able to level up, and in FFXVI:ARR that seems to be grinding FATEs and repeating dungeons.

My friend Matt has been playing FFXIV:ARR lately and I had similar complaints (before the reboot) as you, mizali regarding the grinding. I hate grinding. However, Matt tells me that he loves the game for now ... but the strange thing is that he reports that he is only fishing in it. He has actually renamed it in Steam to come up as "Gone Fishin'" because that is literally all he does when he plays the game. I am not sure if that bodes poorly for the game itself, or if it is just a really, really fun game. I am scared to find out since I don't want to be stuck in another MMO... hehe.

This is currently the game I'm spending the most time on these days, and I'm loving it. It has by far the best leveling experience of any MMO I've played (mainly because you play through a good story, and the quests aren't quite as monotonous as other games). After you've leveled your first class it does get a little repetitive though.

Unlike other MMOs, crafting and other types of professions aren't considered "secondary," they're full fledged jobs. So while one guy might be a Paladin or Warrior, another guy might be a Weaver or Fisher (like your buddy up there). I think this is really cool, it allows people who enjoy crafting or collecting and things like that to have just as good an experience as people who prefer the battlefield.
