Which perspective will you be using when you get the game? I personally prefer third person mainly because I get a better view of the surroundings. I think I'll switch to first person from time to time for aiming with a bow.

I might play it in first person, if the gameplay in this perspective is good enough. I like the Skyrim feel it gives you, as far as I have seen in the videos.

Most of the time 1st person 3rd person is useful when you have a bunch of enemies and some are in your blind spot.

Although I like to play RPG's in 3rd person, I find it much easier to control Elder Scrolls games in first person.

I played almost all of the TES previous games COMPLETELY first person. In TESO I find myself favoring third person, to allow me to have more a situational awareness in pvp.

I'm pretty skeptical about first person in an MMO. That being said I have played every Elder Scrolls game so far in first person. I'll probably give it a shot and figure it out from there. From what I played in the beta I'm not sure how I feel about either.

I'm going to try playing in first person since that's how I've always played Elder Scrolls games. Has anone tried the game out in first person mode yet? How does it compare to the third person view offered?

First person looks a little choppy. That is one thing I hate about most MMORPGS that the combat isn't as good as regular games, but I guess that is just the draw back of MMORPG games. For some reason after watching this video I feel less inclined to go out and buy The Elder Scrolls Online once it is released in April.

Honestly for me every RPG is made to be played in the 3rd person. I just simply love getting new gear and my char decked out in great looking armor and beatign everything around it. Without being able to see my character, the game is simply not as enjoyable.

I play in both when I play. I like the way both views look. I think that I may play more in first person, but when it comes to attacking enemies I will play in third person.

Third. First only for archery. The first person view makes me ill.

Personally I can never play all the time in 3rd I tried it once and melee combat especially when using a battleaxe or greatsword.

I always play Elder Scrolls games in first person, even though in other games I prefer third.
The characters just move awkwardly and stiffly and I get annoyed at that :)

When playing a traditional Elder Scrolls game then being in 1st person makes the experience interesting and doesn't affect much. With a MMORPG you have to decide between a close quarters narrowed viewpoint or third person for a view advantage. While doing normal quests and story I'd imagine 1st person would be fine, although in dungeons and bigger fights or PvP the ability to look around your character is invaluable.

Elder Scrolls is made to be played in first person. I've never played any Elder Scrolls game in third person, never and I think I am never going to because first person looks simply magnificent.

These days, with so many developers opting into Head Bobbing for some retarded reason thinking it adds realism when all it does is make many people sick, I prefer to play in Third Person.

Exactly, I don't get why they are so obsessed with first person melee combat. It makes combat so clumsy and messy. Also, RPGs are about getting gears, I want to see my new shiny gears when I equip them! I want to see them in action, not see them in the equipments menu.

While playing any Elder Scrolls game, I always explored in third person. The scenery is amazing, especially if you use an ENB mod. Besides that I can see all the details. On the other hand, while I am in combat, I always use first person just because it's way easier to deal with things.

First person all the way, I much prefer first person combat especially if they make this game compatible with the oculus rift.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but third person all the way. Like said above, I definitely want a wide view of my surroundings. I also hate not being able to see my characters.
