Fallout 4 marks the first time we will get to play as a fully voiced protagonist. It's pretty exciting to finally be able to listen to our own words. What do you guys think about this feature?

I can see why they made the switch, but I still prefer the silent protagonist approach because it's what Fallout has always been. It's nothing that's going to stop me from playing or enjoying the game, though.

Same. It won't make a really difference but I hope they give us the option of making our character mute if none of the voices are appealing.

I think the voiced protagonist is the best thing that could have happened to the Fallout franchise. It gives us this Mass Effect feel in the Fallout setting, and I think it`s just genius.

About my only complain is it will gives more burden toward modders, especially the one that write Quest instead of just adding more items, since that means it will be more noticeable for them if, you know, the protagonist is silent.

I'm not sure what I think about this.

One the one hand, woo voice acting!

On the other hand, I expect maybe one voice actor for male/female characters, maybe two or three at the most. So if none of the voices are good or fit any characters it could be meh.

If it's compulsory I'd like if there was a choice of voice actor, just so it's more customisable to my wishes. As long as it's done well I'm happy, which I will be because Bethesda always does a good job.

I think it will take away some of the immersion.
Usually when you read the dialogue, you read it with your inner voice. Now we'll be "forced" to listen to a specific voice so there will be no more room for imagination in that aspect.

It's definitely not an awful choice, these are just my thoughts for now. I may end up liking it when(and if :p) I play the game.

I think the voice actors chosen for both male and female are really good. I agree with you about the fact that it takes away from immersion somewhat, but we will just have to wait and see if the voice actors can deliver a good quality job.

Yes, this is a bit exciting. However, I am not too excited about being able to use my own voice as the protagonist. I am a little nervous. After all I have heard recordings of my voice.

I love that it's fully voiced. I can only hope that's done with more and more games. Especially if it gives you an idea of what the characters are intended to sound like. Though, I do hope that there are options for the voice, but that may be asking a bit to much.

Hmm, I'm honestly not sure on what to think about a voice actor. I always liked to imagine my characters with some sort of quirk or odd voice. If there's an option to not have a voice for the protagonist, I might choose it after my first playthrough.

Yeah, exactly, although different voice choices might be too much to ask if you think about the scale of the game. :D

I think it will throw me out of the immersion a little bit, but it's going to be interesting. They said the recorded over a 1000 popular names for the baby, which is impressive but also makes me go "...but why though".

I can't wait to have a fully voiced protagonist. It always seemed a bit odd that I couldn't hear myself. I think it will make it more interesting and make the story come alive. I just hope I like the voice. If I don't, it could ruin the whole experience.

From what I have seen during the gameplay trailer, the male voice actor is top notch. I`m curious about the female actor, though.

Oh I am so pumped, I'm really looking forward how they handle the speech when the main character has like 1-2 intelligence. You think intelligence will even affect their speech options in this one? Seems like it would kind of kill the whole point of a voice actor if he just says "me like shoes" or something dumb over and over. I heard they have one for the female character as well, good to see they are putting some work into it!

I feel that the voiced characters might have a negative effect on the game, sure its great for the character to have voices but it might impact the overall quality of the conversations. With the 4 option voiced responses you can't have as much dialog and branching options as the previous 10 responses available that were not voiced. I feel like this decision will appeal to the masses but will not be a positive change for the series.

Having your protagonist talk in game hasn't been something I have experienced before in any game, so hopeful there are quality voice actors because I want it to be an eye opener to all other games and companies out there! Because it sounds like a cool Idea! (pun intended) ;D

This is a big deal for the franchise and I think it's a pretty cool addition. Not being able to listen to your own character speaking was a pretty big dealbreaker for some people in the past, but now it's all good! :D
