I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan, read the books and am an avid fan of the tv show as well. I know they already released a game based on the series, but it was so awful I just had to stop playing it. Anyways Game of Thrones is by far one of the best ideas to put into an MMORPG. Wouldn't you guys agree with me? You can create your own character, from either side. I know I'd be a Lannister for sure. What about you guys?

Come on Bethesda, give me a Game of Thrones game. Please!

No no no :p From my experience, turning tv shows and series' into video games is a bad move. This series has such a great reputation, why risk ruining it with a video game?

I think this is an amazing idea, can we get a petition going? :p

I would love this but I would only want it done if it were done well, unlike the game right now. I wouldn't be a Lannister, I'd be a Stark. Don't know why someone hasn't thought of this yet!

I fully support this idea as I'm an avid fan of the tv show, but it would cost so much money to make and I'm not sure any game developing company would be willing to take the risk of making it.

With the popularity of Game of Thrones, this would be a wonderful idea. It could cost a lot of money, but all games cost money, and with the popularity around GoT I can see it being a highly sold game. As for games based on movies and tv shows, yeah I see where you're coming from. But, if they develop the game and don't rush, it could work.

You have to look at the story that can be created. There's many books and the possibilities are endless. Plus I know the developers will end up having some creative control as well and will be able to come up with their own stories.

Will it happen, doubt it. Maybe sometime in the future when the show is done. But then again I can see this show getting movies and spin-offs.

I think the GoT series has a long way to go yet, and will extend far out beyond the tv show. I doubt there'll be a movie, but I can see more games coming our way and possible an MMORPG. I think they could easily add new things without ruining the story.

This could so be done. I would love to see this. Who doesn't love GOT? They can add things that we didn't already see and some things to put some nostalgia in. It would be cool

I dont see this happening anytime soon. Usually when the developers choose to do something like this, it is well after the show is over. It is kinda bringing more popularity back to the older game

I don't think that this could happen for awhile. Also, it would really have to be set in an alternative time line, or either the far past or the distant future. Otherwise, we'd be stomping all over already established canon facts for the game, and I just don't see that being a good idea. It would ruin a lot of things for both the show AND the game. And, from the MMORPG point of view, it would be retreading old ground. Why would you be a Stark when you know about the Red Wedding, for example? It would have to be set in a far different setting where the outcome of certain events wasn't set in stone.

Though, on a note as to who I would play... Sure, the Lannisters are great, and the Starks are Noble, but if Targaryan wasn't an option, I think I would actually have to be a Greyjoy. 'We Do Not Sow'? Bad ass, man, BAMF! Paying the iron price? Pillaging and reaving your ways up the coasts? That sounds like it would make some really great, really juicy PvP action, and also your sigil is the Kraken and all other sigils go home because GIANT SQUIDS THAT CAN DESTROY SHIPS FOR THE WIN!

The TV show is just awesome. I played 2 Game of Throne video games which was really awful to say thee least. The ideas ere not properly executed and as a result, the whole game was downright boring. If I am not mistaken, they have a browser based Game of Thrones game which just sucks. A good MMO would do it for me. Just bring it!

No thanks. It would never be a game well made since they would just concentrate on releasing it knowing people would pay for it... in other words it would be just like the thousand other MMORPGs just with different character names.

    A huge NO!

There is no need to make games on such TV shows which already have so many games and more importantly successful games in that genre.

First of all I don't think the game would match to any other similar game on the market currently, secondly even if it is good I can't see it getting much player base.

Nope. It either be set in a different time period as the TV series/books, thus having no excitement and tension, or by being in the same it would kill the lore and "realism" of the world. Not a good idea, mate.

It might work, but only after the show has ended, and all the books were written, to be honest, the story has almost every aspect of a potential MMO, I can think of at least a couple of different factions for PVP, now the PVE side needed to quite worked up to be appealing to us gamers.

Yea, but the thing that makes great video games is story line and lure. GRRM has created such a large world that it could endlessly be done and would ever be expanded. I for one would love to be a sellsword or a gold cloak!

I definitely think that the world and lore of Game of Thrones is rich enough for an MMO. That being said, I don't see it happening any time soon for a few reasons. First, it's a licensed product, and the rights to the world/characters might not be easy to get a hold of. Secondly, George R.R. Martin would likely want to be involved to make sure his world isn't butchered... and he's fairly busy right now writing more books in the series!

Mostly, though, I'm not sure that another Game of Thrones game is in the cards after the monstrosity that was the last GoT game.
