Minecraft is a pretty addicting game to play and I'm all over it daily. But does anyone know of a game similar to minecraft? The main thing I want is a game where you free roam, ( multiplayer would be better ) gather resources, explore , and try and survive.

Well, minecraft is one of a kind, there are still lots of games out there that do not compare. Try getting Terraria on a home system or pc, or garry's mod. Terraria is like 2d minecraft but not all the same crafting recipes ect. I recommend Garry's mod. It will last a LONG time and is free roamer.

I know the Wii U has something called U-craft (or something like that) that is literally a Minecraft clone coming out soon. And yeah, there is the game Terraria, which everyone heralds as 2D minecraft. That's as far as my knowledge of similar games go.

If Terraria is a 2D game I can't imagine it would be all that similar. I haven't really seen anything I would consider to be like Minecraft.

I think Terraria is the only common one to Minecraft. It's sort of a side view of Minecraft. It's a free world with mobs and free style building.

Minecraft, to me, is one of a kind. Despite Terraria being held as a 2D Minecraft, the experience is a lot different. I've watched my friends play the game and it makes Minecraft look so complex, when its really simple. I think so many people love Minecraft because of its ability to stand out from other RPGs.

There are multiplayer ones and F2P, but you need to pay in game to get certain things, it's called BrickForce, check it out, it's not just like Minecraft, but it's also based on an FPS system.

There are tons of copycat games that try to mimic certain aspects of Minecraft, and most of them suck.

As others have said, there are tons of clones, and then there is Terraria, which is a really fun game, especially with friends. However, if you want to try out something new, I'd suggest Project Spark, which is a game developed and published by Microsoft. The game is available on PC and Xbox One, and it's a really fun and creative game, which, I think, is a great alternative to Minecraft.

I wouldn't say Project Spark is that similar to Minecraft or considered an alternative in terms of gameplay because it is quite different game style, but after all I would say it is a great and fun game indeed. Minecraft gets boring after a while sadly.

Terraria kept me busy for a long time, but I don't really feel like playing it anymore. Minecraft is more appealing to me, but you can always count Terraria as an option.

Minecraft is the best so far. I wonder if someone can make a better game.

There's a game that Minecraft was built upon. Or perhaps the concept of it was built upon. You should check out a game called RuneScape if you play Minecraft.

Runescape is meh now. It was great, but it hasn't adapted well to today's games.

If you like MineCraft, you'd love STARMADE, which is essentially minecraft in space - you can design everything from massive space ships to mining asteroids for materials and building massive space stations or socializing in a space network of buildings. Each player gets their own "quadrant" of space that is their personal work space and then they enter other peoples spaces for social or political/PVP gains (Faction based combat) - and they allow you warp between "quadrants" of space with relative ease.

It's essentially like MineCraft had a Sci-Fi baby.

Terria, Trove, EQ Landmark , Lego World. Those are the 4 games I can think of off the top of my head that remind me of Minecraft. I recommend Landmark if you're really into the building process of minecraft,it's voxel based so you can make some really beautiful designs within the engine.
