Like the title says, anyone know of a Genesis type game where you make a planet and the civilisation on it?

The only game I can think of that's close to this is Sims City, If a game like this sin't real then I'll have to make it.

Civilization is pretty damn good, but it's a little old and nowhere near as massive as what you're thinking.

Man, there was one awesome game back on Sega Master System 2, called "Populous". You were a god, and had little people under your control, and you had to build houses and castles, and fight another god by destroying their houses and people. Sounds simple, but it was truly addictive. Wish they'd bring that out on Xbox Live or PSN.
