Getting stuck in the terrain?

This happens to me a lot. I hate it when games tend to make a certain part of the terrain accessible to players even though you can't get out of there.

I know it's a glitch but come on. I usually do my quests ninja style so in order to do this properly I had to climb up high stones and elevated platforms and just shoot arrows on enemies until they die of stupidity.

But almost all time once I reach the platform, I get stuck on the edge. You'd think you can just jump down but no, the game doesn't allow you to jump when you're in a certain spot. Has this ever happened to you?

It really is an annoyance. The only way to get out of it is to Fast Travel if you're outside.

I wish there was a way to call out your companion to pull you out of being stuck and if not, just a simple ability to get unstuck. Eg: "Remove the damn rocks off my toe." ^_^

It is really. You're lucky if it happens to you outside but once you got stuck inside a building you have no choice but to just reload the game. I sometimes get lucky enough that I escape but not with a thousand times of fidgeting with the controller and just jerking my character around.

You know, it's just one of those things that happens. Either not enough play testing or no play testing at all, especially for open world games. It is quite annoying, but I'd say it's mostly unavoidable unless a developer takes literally years to play test their games. It'd be nice to have a game where this doesn't happen, though.

Yeah it would be but it's just weird that most of the testers would be able to skip those parts. I mean, if you where a gamer and you're testing a game, wouldn't you do some weird stuff to just to see if the game would hold up? I mean, what would be the point of testing out the game if you're just going to see if the flow of the mission works well rather than testing the whole game itself as a whole right?

There's bound to be bugs in every game and with a game as big as Skyrim it's almost apparent to have some sort of game shattering bug. But to be fair, even though it's a fairly huge game the development team should at least paid some attention to the small details.

I understand that the priority is for the game to function well as intended but if the player wants to take things differently then it's no reason not to check it.

Agree, although I get how they can reason that it's because no normal player would actually go too far out the game to get him/herself stuck in behind a huge pot or vase but still, some people would try it so it's just fair to maybe get it all settled in.

You'd think that they should just like block that are or maybe put some sort of object there to block the players from getting their asses stuck in there right?

YOU cant blame them for something like this. Just look at thise size of the map and try to think of how long it would take testers to run around every nook and cranny of the map and try to get all the glitches out of the way. Im glad they managed to keep the problems so small and simple. And for the most part if your stuck you can always fast travel to some other location.

I don't really blame them for the glitches in the mountains or some really foreign terrain, I mean come on, unless you're a complete hardcore explore you won't run into them. But I experience a lot of glitch even at the major cities, inside houses and stuff so it's not an excuse to not have them checked right?

Getting stuck in terrain was pretty usual back when this game had launched in 2011. I always used the console command "Noclip" to get rid of that issue.

When its commonly visited places then yes I agree it does feel like lazy Q&A and quality control. But I just cant help and think of the size and all the other aspects of the game and all the areas that could of gone wrong. My favorite glitch that happens religiously evrey single time is hwn your talking to an npc and you enter any area and that npc is right next to you continuing the convo only to stop mid comment and then leave. My friends and I always tried "warping" (as we call it) NPC's to location they are not meant to go. Like dragging an innocent into jail or a dangerous cave/dungeon.

It is lazy, I once got stuck behind barrels for some reason. I also hate how when you thought you got a clear shot behind a wall and then you let go of the arrow and BAM! It get's stuck in an invisible wall. I also had that warping glitch, every time I walk past somebody from the Thieves Guild and I get out of the camp they would still come out with me and then go back.

The beauty of arrow stuck in those invisible walls is that they are easily recovered :D this happens all the time. Glitches and buggs are the hidden easter eggs left behind by Bathesda to get people to laugh and enjoy themselves when putting in hundreds of hours into the game. Some have to be left in on purpose like the one where if a giant or troll stomps, pounds the ground near you it blasts you off into space. While you drop down to your ultimate death.

Yeah it is kind of useful but it's annoying specially when you're sneaking and you're planning on making an arrow count and then it gets stuck and then the enemy finds out where you're at. Oh yeah it's an amazing glitch actually, when I first found out about the glitch I just laughed hysterically, the Giant stomps at you and then sends you miles above ground. Another glitch I love is when the objects sends you flying across a room, the one where you step on an object that's lying around and when it glitches out it sends you flying.
