What I am referring to, by the thread title is: Do you mark down certain goals that you wish to achieve, like building a large building with some specific architecture in mind, or obtaining the most of some specific material?

For example, I usually undertake the goals of building a mighty construction that only serves to remind me of the effort put into that specific world, and in order to solidify it as a stark contrast to what you usually see, I add rails in order to give it (from my perspective, obviously) a modern-esque environment.

Whenever I began a new build, I usually plan everything out either in my head or on paper. I sometimes will sketch the building out on paper and proceed to build off of that. However, when I start building I tend to not stop until I have finished a good part of it.

I sometimes will write things down. I am a horrible artist so drawing would just confuse me, lol. I usually write down notes and then follow them. Most of the time I do it all at once because if I take breaks or don't finish it I might mess a few things up and then it doesn't look perfect.

I never plan anything in Minecraft. I just roam around and decide what to do on the fly. Even when I'm building something, I'll only go with the plan I spontaneously made when I got the idea to make it.

I don't plan on anything, I just go with the flow.

I do sometimes have goals, for example I'll keep a mental that I need to finish a certain piece of a project by nightfall and so on, which gets a bit harder building underground but you start to generally know how long a day is roughly

I don't really like to set goals in Minecraft, I feel like it's a game that kind of builds upon itself as you play. Sure, you can finish builds and be inspired in a different way, but I wouldn't consider myself working towards a kind of 'goal'.
