In the trailers the graphics looked amazing! Do you think it will translate over to normal game play, or will the good graphics severely limit the game on Windows? And would they have a lower end graphic option for slower machines?

I don't think we'll have graphics as good as Skyrim even. Let's be honest this is a MMO and it's just not possible to make a game of that scale along with the amazing graphics which we expect now a days.

But that doesn't mean the game won't look beautiful. Having more polygons isn't everything.

True, but it will happen eventually. And, with the long development time, it should look at least as good as WOW.

I think that the graphics will be amazing also if it's a MMO.

I don't know about that Final Fantasy XIV was very beautiful. With a team like Bethesda working on a title that carries a lot of weight, they will need to
at least look like they tried.

It looks opposite of amazing to be honest with you. Yes, I am a fan of TES series. Yes, I have played 'em all, but that doesn't means that I am going to appreciate any crap you put in front of us. Graphics are below par in my opinion.

I'm really looking forward to playing the game on the console because I think it will run beautifully. I feel like unless you have a computer built to handle it, I don't it will handle well with the new graphics. It is also an MMO so there will be a lot of data to load.

Good graphics will be great! But the game is mostly interesting due the great lore and the possible exploration of entire Tamriel.

I concur. Graphics won't make a great game. You still need great lore and gameplay, otherwise it's not going to bode well for the devs.

The graphics look great, and if you have a good enough PC then it will handle it fine. The graphics on the consoles also look really good, so I imagine the graphics will be the same in quality. The only thing that might affect the appearance is the dropping of frames at certain points.

Frame dropping does my head in, but it's only natural when there is a lot of things happening on a big game. Hopefully the next gen consoles will be able to keep control of this, and it's quite common on average PC's too.

Graphics is like putting makeup on a ugly face, the face is still ugly but just covered. Sorry, I couldn't think of a better example but it's true to an extent. The game needs to be fun to play, the mechanics need to be awesome and make sense, and the replay-ability needs to be high to keep players coming back. Graphics are important, yes, but there is more to a game than graphics.

For example, hate it or love it, Minecraft is a good example of how graphics aren't everything.

What is more important than good graphics is proper optimization. Sure it's nice to have a really beautiful game but if it requires a monter PC to run... it's not good for everyone. Better spend more time optimizing the engine so that lower scale pc's can also run it on medium settings properly.

And in the end it's all about gameplay, the graphics are just a nice addition.

I don't think it's going to look as good as t's single player counterpart. I have seen the Quakecon footage and have to say that I was a tad dismayed to be honest.

I hope they do make the graphics as good as Skyrim. The graphics cannot compensate for a lack of storyline and gameplay though.

I wish they would have made another single player Elder Scrolls game with online multiplayer capabilities rather than a full blown MMORPG.

I agree, most MMORPGs don't look anything like the single player ones. It's a fine balance between graphics, optimization and performance.

I don' think it's even fine. Did you look at the animations? It was horrible. I hoe they work more on combat mechanics.

Keep in mind that it's beta footage. Stuff such as proper animations are done late in the development process since they are there just for eye candy.

Hmmm...we will see how it looks when it is completed and ready to launch. I am not going to buy a game laden with microtransactions and a sub fees anyway.
