Hey guys, first of all sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, I didn't see a technical help section so I posted it here. I preordered Metro Last Light and haven't really had time to play it. I got to the part where I had to rescue the communist from the Nazis before he gets hung.

I was getting perfectly fine frames before that point and even after I got there. I then left and went to upgrade my drivers to the latest since it said it was for Metro. I freshly installed them and everything, going into safe mode and all that. I then went back into game and everything was fine at the menu, right after I hit the key to continue after Artyom's speech, my GPU usage fell to around 8% and I was getting 15 FPS. Im use to 60+ FPS. I then tried to change settings and everything, nothing seemed to work. If I lowered settings, the usage just went lower.

I then reverted back to 314.22 WHQL drivers that I was using before, I come back in game and same thing again. Now I went to try other games and they were all fine. So I thought about trying the metro last light benchmark in the game files and that was fine aswell, good GPU usage. I go back in game and same thing, <15% GPU usage. Now im here and hoping you guys can help me. Sorry for the long post I just tried to explain everything I did. Thanks.

I run the game with a superclocked 670 (it pretty much runs like a 690) and I didn't get any issues.

I had the exact same thing happen to me on the same level but i have a 7970. i don't know how i fixed it exactly but he's what i did before it fixed itself. i restarted the game a couple of times, i played the metro benchmark test which is in your metro folder if you don't know, i then proceeded to play a different level. after that it ran fine. thats how i fixed mine but it may only need one of these steps as i didn't play that level until after the last step. i only had 8 fps when it was stuffed up so your lucky. hope it helps

Alright thanks for the response. I just tried to play the level before and it was PERFECTLY fine! Then Once I got into the small crawl-way thing when im going to go talk to the communist, as soon as the new level even loads in the usage falls to <15% and FPS is garbage again... I just checked its the Facility level.

Edit* Another thing, when I go to the menu I get like 96-100% usage with 120FPS, right when I close it, it falls to <15% usage and <10FPS.

Okay, so I somehow managed to fix it and got through the level. I then went to the next level and the same thing happened. I remembered that my advanced physx was off when it worked last time so I turned it off and restarted, it was fine. So im guessing advanced physx has something to do with it.... Im running a MSI GTX 680 Lightning OC'd to 1202 Core and 3506 mem. I should be able to run advanced physx on.... Both SSAO and advanced tess. is off.

Same problems with GTX 680 sli - some times the shuttering is so bad I need to close down the game .

Dead city there are some parts the FPS drops to 2 frames per second and then other parts 210 frames per second !! Gaming seems to be getting worse over time in the performance arena !

Those areas on very high settings or low frames drop to 10-5 frames per second from 120-200 frames

On or off did nothing for me ! So many parts of metro act up and this is a wide spread problem for many PC gamers even on low settings .

Heres a link to a forum post on the Nvidia forums about this same problem. (Click Me) I hope a fix comes up soon...

Edit* Seems I cant post links till I reach 15 posts oh well. If you just search up "Metro Last Light advanced physx problem" on google it should be the first link to the geforce forums. Hope it gets fixed.
