Guardians vs Defiant

    As you probably know if you have given Rift a try, the conflict between the two factions (Guardian and Defiant) is an integral part of the gameplay.

    Did you choose to be a Guardian, and to piously follow the religion of the Vigil, or did you become a Defiant and put your trust in science and technology as a way to conquer the forces of Regulos ?

    Tell me the reasons for your choice!

    I've chosen both, to be honest. I've chosen the Guardians for my main characters, and chose a different realm/server and went with the Defiants.

    I like the guardians a bit more, because they have those elves and they look a lot better, basically if you want to look buff and bulky - choose The Defiants, if not - go for the skinnier ones and pick the guardians :)

    It's just really ridiculous, why would you want a bulky mage? I'd prefer if mages looked like they're packing less muscle... :|

    I chose the Guardians, I'd had enough of the "insane techromancer" kind of ideal the Defiants are all about. Plus, I always love to be on the "underdog" side, where the most intense players will go to the evil team. This leads to a lot of whining that the good guys are always losing PvP, and that the bad guys outperform us a lot, but in Rift that wasn't really true. While anecdotal evidence in the forums lead people to believe Guardians lost more, we actually had a 51% winrate!

    I play both, and my most progressed character is a defiant, but I definitely prefer Guardian. The guardian starting area and capital city just look better. Plus elves. :)

    I chose a Defiant my first time around before quitting at level 22. This time I went with Guardian. I generally pick the more 'evil' side of games, but wanted to be different than my first go. I keep trying to level a Defiant just to see their side of things, but I lose interest pretty quickly. The shard I used to be on was a PvP one and I can say the Defiants definitely outnumbered the Guardians. Any zone event we would try to do would have at least a 5:1 ratio and would result in us all getting killed immediately after completion.

    I chose a Guardian because all my friends were playing Guardian. Lore-wise I would've picked the Defiants, but in the end it doesn't really matter, it's still the same game no matter what race you play.

    If you like to win at PvP, Defiant is recommended. My guardian allies can't seem to PvP to save their life, especially while leveling.

    Guardian tears up the PvP on my server. No challenge whatsoever. I rolled a Mathosian Pyro Mage.
