Sweet god, this is awesome ;)

Well, I intend to play an Asuran Mesmer, and all other classes at least in PvP.
I'm looking forward to WvWvW and general PvP, and I hope it will be like Dark Age of Camelot. I'll join a competetive PvP Guild if Guildwars 2 will be an esport like Starcraft, or at least like WoW (even tho it isn't a real esport in my opinion).

And to your last question what sets GW2 apart from other games? Well, no monthly fees, no f2p restrictions, a (hopefully) balanced PvP enviroment, and a very nice and awesome community from gw1 :) Well, there will be WoW-Children at the beginning, but as soon as they realize that Items doesn't matter, they'll leave eventually.

That pretty much sums it up, thanks for reading and stuff :p

Asura because i love the smaller races, isn't it cute when a little kid comes by and slashes you up? :D

Post the profession you intend to play:
    Warrior.

Post the thing you look forward to MOST about Guild Wars 2:
I'm looking forward to the world pvp that GW2 is offering. I plan to level up solely through pvp.

Post what you think sets Guild Wars 2 apart from other MMOs:
Well obviously there wont be any monthly subscription. The game offers dynamic events, classes that can play any role (no holy trinity) underwater world, no auto attacks, everybody can revive, skill combos you can do with other players, no leveling curve, grind-less crafting. These are all major mechanics that set GW2 apart from other mmo's that are out right now.

Race: I've been up in the air between the Asura and Sylvani for a long time now, and I'm no closer to a conclusion then I was when I first read about them. I love the Asuran home city and magitech style (I really hope Asura engineers's turrets look different), but the Sylvari racial memories seem like exactly the lore I love. I guess it depends on my professions in the end...

Profession: Again, up in the air. I loved Mesmers in GW1, and can't wait to see some gameplay footage of them (the info we have is kinda vague atm). However, Elementalist also seems incredibly flexible and fun. So in the end, I'll probably end up rolling an Asuran Elementalist and a Sylvani Mesmer.

Looking forward to: Out of the many things to look forward to, I'd have to say my favorite is cross profession combos. It's just a level of teamwork and interactivity that I've never seen in...well, any multiplayer game (other then maybe Magicka), much less a MMO. One of the one's I'm really, baited breath waiting for is seeing if the Mesmer's invisibility is an initiator; and, if so, how it will interact with finishers.

Setting GW2 apart: As I hinted at in my previous answer, it would have to be the level of teamwork available to both PUGs and organized teams. I know that's a broad answer, but it's hard to get more specific without just pointing at the whole game and saying "Pretty much that." From how events allow player interactions to the lack of tank/healer mechanics, everything I can see is ment to facilitate and encourage teamwork, and it's about time! I'm hoping it sets a new trend in MMOs, if not to outright copy what GW2 is doing, to at least get away from the trend of MMOs being large number of people playing single player next to each other.

    Edited for spelling and grammar.

Human Necromancer here, and I cant wait to delve into the vast world of danger and excitment with the fleshed out dynamic system! What makes my journey special is the fact that it is my own. No longer am I a small number looking in, I am apart of this world. What I do matters, and how I aid my allies shapes the very land I walk on. I am an adventurer, and this land of Tyria shows it...

I will be Human, bland I know, but I always play the human. Humans always felt right to me when starting games of this nature.

I will be an Elementalist, why? FIRE! I enjoy fire. Burning things is fun:eek:

Thing I look forward to the most? Why the game! In all honesty I have been craving a fresh mmo flavor and GW2 seems to be the spice to fill that craving.

I think the thing that sets Guild wars 2 apart from the rest is also the least important about it.What catches most peoples attention though, is the no monthly fee. As far as what caught my eye as my next mmo? The weapon and skill systems. The simplistic yet strategic ways you can set your character up seems like my cup of tea.

Sylvari warrior. I'm looking forward to all the amazing features GW2 is offering all in one game. It being F2P (you only need the box) is the most major thing that sets the game apart from other MMO's that are out. A quality product without a subscription fee - that my friends is major in my opinion. It's not like the game is going to be some chinese/korean grinding fest. It will be a game at the level of WoW (infact delivering a lot more than wow) and a lot cheaper. :)

There's a girl out there who wants to be a norn were-raven, but she'll need a protector, and that's why I've got to be a norn guardian. Her guardian, with a wolf spirit totem to remember my dedication to our pack. We're looking forward most of all to the dynamic events we'll stumble across on our excursions, when we don't know what to expect, and the handcrafted personal storylines that we'll get to share. That's what will set Guild Wars 2 apart: we can just wander out, without forming a group or adding to our quest log, and expect to find adventure (or have it find us). Adventure that is exciting and fresh, where what we do has a visible outcome on the world around us!

    Race Human
    Profession Mesmer
Im looking forward to see the new open public quest sustem that everyone can interact and get xp etc without the need to party and see how it works.
I think that guild was is set apart other mmos because it has more action combat which engages the player into it giving him 10 times more fun than typical mmos. All that remains is to see it in action and see how it feels.

Oh what a fancy looking website /lubelube/

I'm going to play a Sylvari Ranger, which is really stereotypical but I promise I won't name him Legolas /OR SHOULD I?

I'm looking forward to the freedom, I love running around in places I shouldn't be in yet. The mobs are like 10 levels higher and you can barely take on one at a time, and if you pull two you are screwed. So god-dang exiting. You can do that in all games but you often don't have any quests in that area yet, which means no exp.

The dynamic events are just perfect for me and that's what sets it apart from all other games.

So let's queue crazyass Mel Gibson and scream FREEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Post the Race, Human, Asura, Charr, Norn, Sylvari you intend to play as:
Sylvari. They have an interesting origin and backstory to their appearance in tyria. As a original guild war player, i find myself to have a certain attachment to it since i was there at the grove during prophecy campaign. They give me a sense of immense untap potential and future because they're new to tyria and how many mmo lets you play a newly founded race ^^

Post the profession you intend to play:
I'd go with mesmer. I'm sure it's pretty much highly populated due to it's uniqueness in guild war series but i just can't help myself. Also it's the first class i played when guild war was released back in 2005 and help my guild rake up to top 25 guild in the gvg chart. So saying mesmer class have a special place in my heart is an understatement. Mesmer is what i am haha.

Post the thing you look forward to MOST about Guild Wars 2:
WvsWvsW pvp. From the recent reddit real time interview with fans, the dev claim to be DoAC addict couple with the fact that we don't know much about it and original guild wars focus on pvp endgame, it's definitely the most anticipated feature for me. I love DoAC pvp and was sad when WAR failed to live up to it's predecessors (class balance killed it for me). The 3 faction setting plus large map with activity to support a variety of level range and anti zerg system like aoe siege wea.....*pant pant*....well hopefully a decent pvp game will come out of this.

Post what you think sets Guild Wars 2 apart from other MMOs:
Dynamic event system. Instead of quest hub, i'd really really really wanted a mmo that i can just pick a direction and go explore the game world. IMO this feature if done right will be a genre changer. It better than linear VO and cinematic cut scene style in SWToR as you decide your route, adventure, consequences. Heck visiting the same place twice may produce totally different experience. This add a lot to the "living and breathing world" concept. Anet said it best "what's your story" instead of xxx mmo "play our story"

    Race: Human,
I like to make avatars that resemble me so I usually go human on my first character. My secondary will probably be an Asura because they are so cute and powerful!

    Profession: Elementalist,
No matter what game I play I am always drawn to the class with the most magical firepower. The elementalist embodies this so well that i cannot resist maining it. With the ability to change your elemental affinity and do different type of damage/ fill other roles I do not think I will ever be bored with this profession.

What I am looking forward to:
Amazing graphics, rich lore, and emersive PvE. I play a lot of DoTA type games atm and the PvP looks really intense so I am also looking forward to that.

What sets GW2 apart from all the other games from what I have seen in videos is the ability to rarely ever seem monotonous. The Grind is the worst part of all games for me and GW2 just seems soooo fluid and interesting.

Post the Race, Human, Asura, Charr, Norn, Sylvari you intend to play as: I'm still deciding between Asura and Charr (leaning towards Asura though). The Asura seems to have some of the most beautiful buildings/area, but the Charr just looks straight bad-ass.

Post the profession you intend to play: As an Asura, I would be an elementalist as it simply fits the lore for me and that's kind of important to characters I play. I don't really RP, but I love lore.

Post the thing you look forward to MOST about Guild Wars 2: The individualized action oriented combat. I got so bored with previous MMOs where it really depended on "someone else" to do the job whereas in Guild Wars 2 we will be responsible for ourselves, dodging attacks, and performing cross-profession combos. It seems like the perfect balance between working with others and doing your own thing.

Post what you think sets Guild Wars 2 apart from other MMOs: EVERYTHING! From the entire shift in play style leaving behind the quest grinding towards an immersive world where my character will save entire cities and as I actually adventure through the world, they will get tougher and tougher. Then there's also the fact that the creators are a company that actually cares about the player base and is willing to put in the extra time and work hard to deliver a game that will be ready for release and be more industry changing then expected.

    Race/Class:
    Toon 1
Human, Thief (unless racial abilities favor Charr)
    * stealth, damage, pvp

    Toon 2
Norn, Warrior (unless racial abilities favor Char)
    * versatility, duo well with my wife's caster toons.

    Toon 3
    Undetermined ranged/caster class.
    * dependent on post release experience

The thing you look forward to MOST about Guild Wars 2:
Low stress MMORPG playing. Like we had with GW1. No "required" grind, lots of things to do beyond quest node A to quest node B. All with a B2P model so I don't have to feel bad if i put the game down for a week or two. In the end you have a high value game you can keep coming back to. Max enjoyment with only 1/2 the treadmill/grind/monotony of the next leading brand of MMO. ;)

Post what you think sets Guild Wars 2 apart from other MMOs:
Control responsiveness. Lot of MMO's still use the static whack-a-mole and give 479721397 skills but you only spam 3-4. (or macro to one button and tap away) I think with the spacial aspects of many GW2 abilities and the "roll" manuver/dodge-abilities we will get more skill and enjoyment out of combat.

Human Mesmer of course! Mesmer is the greatest class from any MMO so far in my opinion. I love the spells they have and they interesting look they are given. The PvP in GW was amazing and in my opinion one of the best PvP experiences, but it didnt stop there, the story behind it and the world I got to explore was AMAZING. My love for the original GW was so high that it wouldnt matter what the second version looked like I knew I would be playing it day 1.

Looking in most for Structured PvP and WvWvW, the thrill of skill based PvP in structured will make me shiver everytime i think of it.
And the joy of fighting along 50 or more members of your server in epic clash for the keeps in WvWvW will make tear joy in my eye.

The things that set GW2 apart from any MMO are obvious choices like
    -No holy trinity
-no griefing, kill stealing and ninjaing in PvE enviorment
-people are rewarded to play in groups

In summary they are making an MMO to be played together not apart.

PS: sorry for my bad english

Post the Race, Human, Asura, Charr, Norn, Sylvari you intend to play as:

It's a difficult choice between Sylvari and Asura. I love Sylvari lore and also their appearance. Plus, I'm interested in finding out whether the Nightmare Court can actually change the game world through its actions. As for Asura, I love the architecture of their capital and especially love the golems. I'm also interested in finding out what options will be available in their player home instance.
I also considered playing human, but I've done that in so many other games that I want to try something different from the start this time.

Post the profession you intend to play:

Most likely Ranger. I just love flinging arrows at people. And having a pet makes it that much better. Another possible choice is Necromancer, as summoning minions to fight for me appeals to my lazy side. Although, from what I've seen, I'll still have to actively cast spells to win. Which is fine, since I like the Necromancer's spells.
Yet another possibility is Thief. I want to see how well the stealth mechanic works and if it's fun to stalk and assassinate people.

Post the thing you look forward to MOST about Guild Wars 2:

I can't really pick one thing, which is why I'm so excited about this game! Here's my list of top things I'm looking forward to:

    - No monthly fee. If I were to pay a monthly fee for a game, I'd have to play it a lot so as not to waste that money. And I can't afford to waste any amount of money, since I live in Bulgaria, where the average monthly salary is €300. However, playing like that would be a chore and not something to enjoy and look forward to.
    - No grind. Grinding kills games for me. I want to go through the story of a game without repeating content just to level up and/or get better items.
    - An actual story. One of my biggest gripes with MMORPGs is the lack of a proper story. And even if I want to read all the quest information I get, I have to do the quests by myself, as seemingly everyone else ignores the story parts and I'd have to do the same to keep up with a party.
    - Proper co-op play. No holy trinity and not having to form a party before fighting together.
    - Small ability bar. I dislike having a large amount of skills to keep track of during a fight and, for that matter, an overwhelming amount of skills to choose from to begin with.

Post what you think sets Guild Wars 2 apart from other MMOs:

Its developers! These guys decided to revolutionize the genre! Every MMO I've played recently has been either a WoW clone or of poor quality. It seems like all other MMO developers are either afraid to experiment or don't have the willpower to finish and polish their game.
