What are your opinions on guns in Minecraft? My opinion is that there should revolutionary war-esque guns such as a flintlock pistol or musket, but nothing too advanced because that just doesn't fit into Minecraft in my opinion. I have always thought that Minecraft needed end-game ranged weapons and guns would fit the bill for that.

I don't think guns should be in the actual game and should stay as a mod. Having a really strong end-game ranged weapon could be really annoying when playing in a multiplayer server. You'll be stuck with your stone weapons and then someone will come and shoot you and you have no way to beat them because you can't even get to them before dieing. Running away would also be difficult because it's ranged.

It sounds a bit weird for minecraft. What type of person stranded on an island would figure out the technology of building a gun?

I don't think guns really have a place in Minecraft. I always found Minecraft to be this mild-steampunk-esque game (not in style, but it gives me those vibes where we work with what we have)

Guns just wouldn't have much of a place in the game

Not having guns is a big draw for me to Minecraft. Games like RUST already have guns and it fits for their settings, but having guns in Minecraft would be a bit weird. Imagine trying to shoot a dragon with a bow. It'd just be kind of bizarre.

I think having guns will make the game too easy especially in survival. I'd rather to have more medieval weaponry, if there is to be ranged weapons they should be crossbows. Actually it's Minecraft, if people really want guns they can just make mods on them.

I don't like the idea of having guns in MineCraft. Like what others have said, it doesn't seem to fit in the gameplay. I imagine the game wouldn't be as fun with guns around.

Well it sounds great and at the same time not so great. I would love to have guns on Minecraft, being able to craft fire arms and possible arming your house with cannons and stuff like that. But at the same time, it might kill off the fun of just going in there and getting some action if you know what I mean.

In response to all of these replies, I am not talking about modern guns, I am talking about 1 shot wonder weapons like the musket which would require you to reload after a shot. These weapons are also fairly simple depending on how you want to make it, you could literally have a steel tube with an opening at one end and some gun powder at the bottom with a projectile, so they aren't very high-tech at all and fit in with Minecraft in my opinion.

I don't even like having a musket in the game. I think it's perfect where it's at with swords and bows. I think they went too far putting cannons in the game. They're just running out of things to do.

I think that guns should stick to the mods. If you want guns in your game, which I so often do, you can just get it from a mod. The bow fits the mood of simple technology perfectly but guns would completely throw me off.
I do like to go on multiplayer and play some Wasted every once in a while. Good fun.

I think the'ye should have a force field magnetic bubble gun and shoot the mobs with it, then they will fly to heaven with their soul.

Guns definitely don't fit into the dynamics of Minecraft, which is why they aren't already included in the stock game. Things should stay how they are with the bow and arrow, or even the TNT cannon. There's no need for guns in the game, and I'm glad that they haven't been implemented up to this point.

Only if it's a natural technological advancement that takes plenty of time, I'd like to see something like that in Minecraft, actually.

Yeah, gonna have to agree with others here and say no to guns. They just don't fit the "feel" of Minecraft, I suppose. There wouldn't be any tension when encountering Creepers or Endermen if you could just easily shoot them from afar (I know you could shoot them with the bow, but it's got limited range and takes time to use).

Please no. I would hate to be on a multi-player server with everyone toting guns and taking my stuff.

Well just starting to actually look at minecraft I don't know why there would be guns. I don't see them really fitting guns into the whole game looking at how the game is actually setup and going. I think that guns should be kept out of this one to be honest.

That actually makes it sound more reasonable. Make it a really big luxury to have. I think even if this were to occur, I would like it to only be revolutionary style guns as well.
