Has griefing ever made you quit?

I have been a victim of griefing a few times, on occasion I have quit Minecraft, although usually only for a few days. Have you ever quit due to greifing?

Quit I've done yes but only because being upset and wanting to start over after a couple of days. That's how I can do.

Yes once I built an awesome mansion in a survival server. It took me quite a while to create and then I went down to mine since I only had iron tools so I wanted better. My friend said to me " your mansion isn't that good!". I was like, "what's so bad about it?". I teleported back and their was no roof or side walls remaining. I rage quit from that server.

Most of the time the problem with griefing isn't that the house has been griefed, but the way that the admins deal with it. On my server, I have a plugin that lets me undo anything that was done by a user, and see who did it, so I can always fix whatever happened, and it's surprising how many servers don't have something like that.

Not being able to undo griefing was the issue on the servers I played too. I don't care about the small inconvenience, it was just the fact that the work was undone and couldn't be brought back.

Thanks, what server is it? I prefer tekkit servers but I'll give anything a shot.

Vanilla 1.7. 1.8 clients can connect but some stuff doesn't work right now. I'll try to get on now, I might be able to sort out some kind of VIP account for you :)

I do have a tekkit classic server, although I never really considered making it public

Definitely, it has been the main reason why I quit. Even though I enjoy griefing and playing on griefing allowed servers and I know that eventually somebody will grief me and my faction and I will lose everything, everytime it happens it hurts oh so bad. So I take a break.

Almost a few times. It all depends what kind it is. Most of it I take with a grain of salt and don't let it get to me too bad. It gets really bad when I'm on a server and hackers set in and just decimate everyone for no reason. Luckily most of them have upgraded their security and that really doesn't happen any more. The one time I quit was when I spent a week building a TARDIS and overnight it got destroyed by some Aholes.

There have been times when I have returned to my beautiful creation in flames or just gone entirely. I've also been robbed of things before, diamonds, weapons, etc. Now I always hide my stuff in secret places, so that no one can find them. Nothing can really be done about griefing, but when I play with my friends that usually does not happen.

Griefing is possibly the worst thing that can happen to you on Minecraft. I once made a really nice mansion style building with my friends online. We all liked it and set everything up in it (e.g. beds, chests etc). After a while, one person decide it would be a good idea to lure creepers into the house and blew them up. All the hard work was destroyed in a matter of seconds. Though the damage was not too extensive, all our chests were blown up and it would be too much effort to sort everything out, then rebuild the destroyed parts. I just quit.

Not really. It usually just makes me breath furiously, go onto the server forums and type away all my problems into an in-game report. It's all apart of Minecraft, I guess. Just go on friendlier servers or protect your builds :)

I have been griefed a few times and though it has never made me quit the game it has made me quit servers before. I mean some griefing can be funny, but I guess the people that do it are too young and their humor isn't funny. Had one guy like spawn a billion chickens in my house, all he was doing was causing a lag surge for everyone, that isn't funny!

I admit, I have had the urge to grief before. I've never done it on the PC edition but I have done it on Pocket Edition while playing with a few of my friends. We had a few nice buildings and a pool. We had this place where te ceiling was put halfway through the building and we planned on making another floor there later. I went onto there and spawned Endermen endlessly in there. The Endermen teleported out of there and soon filled up all ove the map. My friends were very confused to where the Endermen came from and why there seemed to be more and more of them. It then started causing lag later and they and no idea where the Endermen came from. Their reactions to it were just so funny. XD

Oh, absolutely. Many times, in fact. But I keep coming back to play. Such people will always be around, and they tick me off sometimes. I try my best not to get too upset about it. I just stay away from the game for a while.

First time I got online I was struck. I just went completely off and I never got into that server again. Made me stop playing MC for a while but I came back in once I felt the need to .

Back when I had started to play Minecraft, the first few times I tried to play online I was relentlessly griefed.
I didn't know much about it so it was probably just some bad servers, but it really put me off the game for some time.
