Hi guys, did you ever fall in love with another player in a MMORPG? Of course I'm talking about a female for male and viceversa. Of course the love that there could be is just about the personality of the person and not for the look.

definitely not. While you can learn a few things about a person by interacting with them within a game, you would never know about to have a real relationship.. you might as well just pull a name from the phonebook, you would have just as much luck.

When I played Ragnarok you could marry a player and have adoptions with them. It was hilarious-- there was a whole program and everything! The babies you adopt become smaller characters than they actually are and the family has special skills that only they can use. Suffice to say I have never fallen in love with any character but I'm open to it.

...Not since I was like 12, no. I'm able to forge friendships with people over the internet, but I think that anything past that is slightly reaching.

I kind of agree with you guys about the fact that on the internet there shouldn't be anything further than the friendship but it would be really cool to see a love growing up thanks to a game isn't it?

No, but I had a girl tell me she developed a crush on me because over time, with my willingness to help her level up, get her stuff, bring her through dangerous territory, etc, she felt that I would probably be a very likable person out of virtual reality. I was flattered when she told me some months later, but I also warned her that she should keep her crushes to herself in case she meets someone that is really a bad person. She laughed and I remember she remarked, "See! You are a good person!" I sighed at that.

We eventually started Skyping, which lead to her just very suddenly one day showing her boobs to me. I very calmly told her that 1) they are very large and 2) they are very nice. I also again warned her that she should take my advice seriously because there are a lot of sick freaks out on the internet.

In case people roll their eyes and say "YEAH RIGHT!" to this story, I will tell you that nothing happened between us and this happened about 2007-ish. Don't look at this as a 'trophy' achievement and rather you should look at this as a learning lesson. In other words, you should be mindful of what your kids are doing when they're playing games online. Though fortunately, she was 22 at the time and I was 28.

No, but its kind of weird fantasy of mine. I think it would be cool to meet someone you have a ton in common with and build a relationship on that. There is nothing more awesome than playing video games with your SO, well, except for one other thing :D

There was this one girl that I really cared about. We used to talk a lot about different topics, and not necessarily about the game. We spent a lot of time together but things never went beyond that. We lived in different countries so I guess we knew it was impossible.

Not really, that would be absurd as you don't know who you're talking to.
