Who thinks there should be more "scary moments" in Last Light? I don't mean pouring gore all over the place (Dead Space? FEAR?), since that isn't scary, but maybe have a few parts like the "armoured nosalise" popping out of the ceiling and jumping back up in D6? Or the little rat nosalises which run through their tunnels and nip at you?

I hope, seriously hope, that if they do add more "scariness", they don't add more gore. Too many games these days think pouring blood everywhere is scary, when in reality it's just cheap and boring.

Yeah, maybe more psychological stuff, like in the book? I think they have made the game even more dark, as you see in the stealth preview they had. It is so realistic! I love games where you actually need your torch. I think 2033 was just a little too light in the tunnels, imo. Have you seen the mutants at the end of the latest preview? Total darkness, except for two eyes... scary! :D

I quite liked the level of scariness in 2033 but I like the ideas suggested here also. The psychological fear was always the greatest for me, hearing noises but being unable to see them whether in dark or light brings fear to me. The little rat monsters made alot of noise but I couldnt always pinpoint where they were and then they would jump out and although the damage they did was minor it was enough to make me run off and have a rethink!

So yeah id like more psychological fear. Or maybe you are trying to outrun a horde of some monster, visible or not, and you have to make it to safety before youre caught. Maybe outrunning an infestation of rats?!

Yeah, this would be cool, especially since rats aren't really seen as a threat. Maybe you're standing there, and someone (like Bourbon), is with you. First you notice one or two rats running past. Then, when you reach a certain point, more come, and the other guy says "This isn't good. What's happening?" And then you hear the squeaking of a million rats, and (Bourbon) says "Run! Run, Artyom!" and we go from there.

It would be a nice connection to the book, as well. :)

I would like it to be as it is in STALKER. You hear something creepy, and just think "shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, hope it's not a burer or a pseudo giant or-SHIT!".
those of you who've played it know what I mean ;)
(and also the scariness as in when you'r doing the Bloodsucker Lair mission, and you crawl through their den, trying your best NOT TO WAKE THEM UP.)

So is Stalker really scary? I haven't ever had a computer good enough to play it, but Stalker 2 is coming to consoles, so I'm really happy about that! 2012 is gonna be one hell of a year!

Heck, I got a friend who cannot play it alone at DAYTIME, and not get nightmares. xD
Srsly it's freaking me out sometimes, mainly because you really don't know what will come around that corner. Or pop up right behind you. ^^

Sounds good. I'll play it at night with the lights off and headphones. Then my parents will come in and I'm lying on the ground screaming and yelling about mutants, and that's when the men in the white coats come around. :p

This is exactly what I had in mind. :D By the way, to those of you who are wondering if Stalker is really scary; this is what I think: When I first played it, I was a little younger and was afraid to go out of the starting camp during in-game daytime... at night, I simply didn't want to leave it at all. xD But that was back in 2007, and now it's 2011, I've grown up a bit and after completing two Stalker games (Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky), it's not that scary anymore. However, there are some really creepy moments in it that can always make you jump and give you a strange feeling. If you liked Metro (book, game or both) then you NEED to play Stalker - especially the first one. :p

First of all, Artyom should sleep sometime. That's when it's the most scary, you having a some dream... Like in the book, Artyom running in a dark tunnel, when from nowhere a dark one stands in front of him and talks to him through his psychic... Hell yeah, bring me a packet of new underwears and I'm good to go :D
I don't like scary games, but if the game is so fucking good to me, I don't care about it... Like FEAR, S.T.A.L.K.E.R or Doom, they're scary so I don't want to play them even when my lovely heart says I should..
