Will the game be based on horror or action? Metro 2033 was a horror game (watching in the eyes of librarians, walking through dark tunnels, knowing you may be attacked by nosalis etc.). I've seen many horror-films, but the second film was everytime worse than the first, because you wasn't feared all the time. I hope that does not happen to Last Light. I don't want an action shooter, there are enough of them.

Sorry if my english is bad, there may be a few mistakes, but I didn't find a german forum for Last Light. I hope you understand what I have written :)

Well I dont think there is horror without action.alot of horror like the in librarians when the librarian and demon fought, that was soo amazing showed the power of both and the i think one the best scenes ever made.

I think 4A is trying to keep true to 2033, and there will still be quite a lot of horror. But the focus of the enemies seems to be going to the humans, though mutants will still be present (there's one like a giant scorpion, and a big bull kinda one, and I think there are big spiders, too). It looks very story driven which is awesome!

More horror, and what von said, 4A is trying to keep true to the feel and gameplay of Metro 2033.

Main focus should definitely be on horror and scary atmosphere, but some badass action at the right time cannot hurt.

It's gotta be horror but with a bit of action because that's how metro is and that's why it's awesome because they got that fine balance of horror with action.

(My friend, you are not the only one)
I hope it is a good mix of both, action, stealth and horror :)

I hope they have a few more guitar tunes, like in Stalker, and times when you can just sit quietly and listen to the music and stories of the people of the Metro. :)

One thing Metro 2033 did very well was to combine the two. Take the level "Dead City". IMO, it's the best level in the game. Part of that is because it manages to blend action, tension, and story so well. Throughout the level you're contending with nosalises and winged demons, but you're also exploring a crumbling urban ruin with only minutes of air, thus fulfilling action and tension. You also experience some strange visions, and if you're observant, might spot a Dark One or two.

So all in all, it develops the plot, keeps the player on his/her toes, and keeps things moving with just the right amount of action. The level design didn't do as good a job as it could have in directing the player's attention, etc. but that's the only real criticism I have of it.

It's a fine balance that made 2033 and the books so good, theres the slow building of tension as you begin to realize just how dangerous the metro really is, yout strung you along waiting for something to happen so the combats almost a release since its a know thing not that rustle just down the tunnel. The interviews all point to Last Light retaining that balance that 2033 did so well.

Metro 2033 wasn't all out horror by any stretch, it was a mix of action/stealth-based human sections, and horror sections where you went through tunnels or to the surface.

Hopefully, the focus will remain this way, with horror playing a vital part, but not being the overall focus.

    Horror or action

With the constant use of the Ghostbusters poster in my opinion, best film of all time in the background, would YOU consider Ghostbusters a horror film?

Anyways cool channel. Kinda reminds me of Cinemassacres Monster Madness, with all the analysis to old and new horror films. Once again, cool channel

I want them to find a good balance. I think Metro 2033 had it right.
