Hey guys! I was wondering if how your houses look like and if you have any future plans to upgrade them. Right now I have this awesome tree house that overlooks a vast cliff with a nearby access to a deep cave. My tree house as of the moment has 3 floors and I plan on making a roof deck for scouting. Mind you this is online and I share that tree house settlement with 2 other guys.

I, myself, am not a very creative person. Actually, I've never really build any big houses, or, for that matter, and bug structures or buildings. I don't know how to! I wish I could upgrade my house but I'd probably just add another block of space to my current one :/

I love building into the side of mountains, eventually an actual house pops out on top of the mountain though :)
I then love to hide the first entrance in the side so that it just looks like a small house on top of a mountain, even though it's actually huge beneath.

Just recently I made an underground one. It's near a body of water and some trees and it's chill as hell. Sometimes I just build on trees too lol.

I kept on dying before I even get the chance to build a decent enough house. But so far I've had this massive tower on top of a cliff which goes straight down into a deep mining cave that I built. I've already established a bed so I guess I will be staying in this fortress for a long time.

I actually like remaking houses all the time. Its weird, I only enjoy a a completed house for a little while before I get another idea and then move on to making another one. Perhaps I could go into a little more detail on my houses, but I like starting new ideas more.

I love making new buildings. My favorite one that I have built so far is a massive watch tower that I built on a large cliff by the beach. I have put a good 6 hours of work in to building it and it just keeps on growing and growing everyday.

    So. much. this.

I'm not a creative person either my friend. Whenever I wish to build a house, I turn to the aid of my friends to make it look good. ._. I just envy their talents...

I have no talent for decoration, never have. My houses usually end up being pretty utilitarian in nature. I just recently finished work on the manor house overlooking a village and its three stories on empty rooms. Yeah...its kinda need, but what do I need all that room for. When I play in survival I tend to build for a purpose, that is to say first, keep out the creeps, second find villagers and secure them, third, stash house. I keep Everything like an OCD crack head and I built a warehouse with a chest for just about every item in the game, with an item display above each for easy cataloguing. I have it built in a logical manner with food items in one row, blocks in another, droped creature items in yet another. For me the design has to function for me. I don't have so much concern about the look of the place, as long as it serve my purposes.

That being said though, on creative, I am currently working on a giant city out in a huge desert, I have designed a number of homes withing a huge walled city, and below it a very vast network of extremely haunted sewers. I was actually using Lut Gholein in Diablo 2 as the inspiration for the city. It having that overall desert oasis feel with a sewer system infested by nasties. By the way, I am looking for build help on this project if anyone plays on Xbox, shoot me a message and maybe we can do some building together in creative mode. The overall goal once complete is to convert the world back into a survival RPG world. Hopefully getting people to take on the sewers as a challenge.

Sometimes I actually feel the same way. There is this one time when I built this castle inside a forest and made huge deep traps around it for enemies to fall in to and it worked too good that it is actually very safe inside that castle. It became boring and then I went on to resettle in a new place.

You have Stanley as your avatar. :D

You'll get the hang of building houses. Watch some YouTube videos and get ideas from them. Plus doing it with friends would be faster and easier and you could all live in and defend your place together.

I build whatever I feel is best. If I get an idea (that's manageable) in my head then I do it. If I want to create a huge wooden house with a balcony overlooking other houses then I do it. If I get bored I just go do something else like explore and come back to it later.

Half-underground dirt hovel works really well in a pinch. I'm too lazy to find all the materials for the stone brick house, and there's always that cave that would be perfectly fine with a door!

I'm too lazy to make a decent looking house so I just result to wood planks and some stones to build my house. But most of the time my house is a cave so I don't really have that much to decorate. It's a really tedious job to design a house when you have to work hard to get the materials.

I can't say that I have a normal house...my stuff is all over the place!! But basically, I tunnelled into the side of a huge mountain, and I have this multi-level storage and furnace area (along with enchanting table, smithy, and a potions area), and then I have this ladder that goes all the way to the top of the mountain (not too long, but also not short). Then there are my farms, nice and safe in the sky. Then I go up another ladder to the top of a tower I made, and at the very top I have a little glass enclosure where I can see the world around me. There I have my bed :). So I guess you could say my house is in a tower, high above the world. I like it there because I'm completely safe to sleep, although its a bit far from everything else.

That's why I'm planning on making an elevator

This is very primal. But I like it, especially if I have to camp out for the night when exploring a cave, a door and walls will seal the cave entrance and voila instant camp site.

Agreed, try playing in multiplayer with friends, you could stack up supplies fast enough to build your own house.

Also try creating a plan or blueprint and try it if it works in creative mode.

I'm busy making a library with a bookstand (enchanting) in my giant 13 stage tower. Also planning to go on making more stages untill 25 or something. Not talking about the underground complex (mineshaft + railroads).

This is a good idea sometimes but often it can be hard to create something that you're both proud of

Maybe try to create your own personal spaces inside your house, just like in real life. Each player will have his own room to decorate and be proud of inside the same house.
