How did you find out about Minecraft?

A friend gave it to me for x-mas one year. She knew I loved games and it was just out around then so she picked it up for me. I have gotten more use out of it than other presents that is for sure.

 

I just ignored it when it first started to get all that hype. One dayI was over a friends house and he showed me some of the things he started building. I was blown away!

 

Another forum I visited was all abuzz about it.

 

I found out about Minecraft through the Achievement Hunter Let's Plays for the game. I saw about 30 of those before I decided to just purchase Minecraft myself and start playing. I'd say that was almost two years ago by now.

 

I found out about it on a gaming website a long time ago. At first I didn't get it but then I was hooked. Probably my fave game of all times. Can't get enough of this simple yet addictive game.

 

My friends forced me into buying it a few years ago. Been hooked ever since!

 

Well at first I thought the idea of Minecraft was lame and for little babies, but then my friends told me to play it and I finally agreed to play it. I was hooked the moment I started getting into the game. I never judge a game from this day forward if it looks stupid, I always give it a try.

 

I have always had a knack for wilderness survival, and just trying to live directly off the land in general. The concept and methods always fascinated me, so I decided reading books, watching videos, documentaries, reading magazines, articles, stories, any thing you could image, on the topic of survival. And through that I stumbled on to Minecraft. It was basically the only survival game that seemed well built, and playable at the time. I started playing it, and at first felt let down on the survival aspect as everything seemed simplified, but it grew on me and I started playing Minecraft from a more creative, and design-oriented game, and I loved it !

 

My brother and a nerdy guy were talking about it one day and I zoned them out and thought it was stupid (it had just come out). Then it gained popularity and I saw a youtube video and got crap from my brother about playing it.

 

My nieces were talking about it at one point and kept begging me to get it so I could play with them, so, I did. And kind of got hooked on it from then on.

 

I actually have NO idea how I found out! It's been a good 2-3 years since I got it, I probably found out about it a simple way through an X-Box friend.

 

Some people at school mentioned it a few times, then I saw someone mention it on twitter so I thought I'd download a copy, and I did and it was awesome

 

during high school my friends set up minecraft on like all the computers and we all played a bunch..

 

Youtubers. A ton of youtube videos just popped up revolving around the game, so I checked it out.

 

I swear I must be the only person that never checks the front page of youtube

 

It started from the Off-topic forum from a game I used to play. Next, my friends started talking about it in school and I became interested in it. I'll be honest I played on cracked servers for a week but bought the game shortly after.

 

I first heard about Minecraft by reading about it on a forum. I didn't really think much of it at first. It wasn't until after watching some videos on YouTube that I decided to actually try out the game. At first I didn't think it was that great of a game, but the more I played the more I started to really enjoy it and it turned into a game that I really loved.

 

It was from a friend really. I wasn't really into Minecraft, I thought the game was stupid. I would pick on my friend (don't worry we're best buddies and she's also my sister) and tell her that the game is a waste of time and then she let me try it out and by God's I found myself wasting time playing a game that 2 hours ago I called a waste of time. I think that's a decent enough plot twist for my Minecraft introduction.

 

Yeah I think most people found out about Minecraft from a friend that played it I don't think Mojang has ever put any money into advertising for minecraft

 

Me and my sis were seeing Minecraft all over the internet, so one day she decided to see a tutorial video on how to survive the first night. She got interested, and so did I. We decided to check it out and we got obsessed over it.
