Do you find traveling long distances in Minecraft a thrill and a challenge? I do. I love traveling long distances and exploring. I don't use any tool to mark my location though. I just try to memorize the places that I pass through. What about you? How do you travel long distances in Minecraft?

I always enjoy exploring, but I often get lost lol. Exploring is always much more fun when you're exploring with friends! At least for me anyway. As previously stated, I get lost quite easily, but I do my best to memorize the area. I'll use the items that help you find where you are sometimes, but not usually.

The only reason that I would travel long distances is to set up camp somewhere else. I'm usually picky about where to set up camp because I want it to be close to trees and some wildlife, preferably on top of a hill.

I feel like a nomad when I just take my tools and start out in one direction. I do that for a few days until I arrive at a completely new area, then I build a new life there. The only thing that can keep me in one place is a huge farm, mine, or a village.

I usually hop on one of my horses and start riding off into the sunrise since I always get lost at night. I tend to leave a trail of torches for me to follow because if by any chance it does turn to night I will be able to find my way back. More time than not though I still end up getting lost, at least I will always have my horse!

I bring all my necessary tools and weapons and bring my pet with me as a companion lol. And once I set foot out of my house I try my best to remember the path that I've taken. I try not to venture out to much inside caves because 9/10 times I find my self lost in them.

Horses. They are in my opinion the fastest, simplest, and funnest mode of transportation in the game of Minecraft.

Whenever I venture off to go exploring I always stock up on torches and leave a trail of them behind me, dropping one every so often in order to create a pathway for me to get back at night. I've gotten lost too many times to count and have lost countless good gems and tools. I also build a compass and take that with me, but it's only useful if my camp is near my original spawn point.

Side note: Is there any way to change the point that the compass leads to?

I don't like travelling because I think it's too time consuming. I feel hard pressed to leave an area especially when I've invested a lot of time establishing a lot of things there. If I have to travel, I'll go with horses since it's the fastest and most practical.

I build tunnels underground to take me to different villages or my own built towns. It’s fast cos you can use mine carts

I've always been a fan of sailing in Minecraft. Ocean biomes are just so immense, so massive. Finding little islands to shelter up in for the night, Robinson Crusoe style, is the most fun I have in the game.

To be honest I just walk lol. It takes a lot of resources to build a transportation system. Though now that I think about it it wouldn't be so bad to have little channels going to my destination and a reusable wooden boat. They can go pretty fast and it doesn't take tons of iron like railroad tracks do...not to mention the boosting rails which need gold.

I actually haven't tried horses that much just because I built my base in the clouds so it would be hard to get an animal up there. Maybe when I make an elevator, but I think a water canal system may be best.

It depends on the situation! If I'm in a mine, I always have a track and mine carts on hand. If I'm going in a random part of the map, I try to use Ender Pearls! Fast is always better

This sounds like a lot of fun and easy to do in creative mode. But this would be pretty tiresome if you did this in survival mode lol.

I normally end up getting way out of my area by exploring, before I know it I'm completely lost and a long way from where I started. Long distances are fun though, you find different villages, and towns and see other things and if you play with other friends you guys can build somewhere else together.

I usually just walk or use a boat. As for keeping track of my positioning from where I started, I just use a map. Other than that, I will just make sure that I'm walking in one direction, then turn around and head back if I've only left to gather materials. Haha! I don't usually drop landmarks or use landmarks that are already ther because it creates a hassle, and sometimes, it doesn't look too different from other 'landmarks'.

I usually just sail around on a boat, or I build a minecart transportatio nsystem beteen close lcoations, and use that to travel between my few hideouts and bases.

You just have to use some nicely placed TNT. It'll be rough when it first explodes but then you can shape it into a tunnel. That's how I do it at least

I create tunnels between my different houses. There are different bases that I have across the observable map each with their own defenses so I know that when I get there, I am always safe.

I generally build raised minecart tracks from one base to another, I don't mid that it takes a little long. I also build nether portals between the bases and then railroads in the nether connecting the portals.
