In the four years I've played Minecraft, I think I've had 3-4 main worlds. About a month or two ago I started a map to play for the snapshots and the recent 1.8 release. Before that, I played on one world as my primary survival map for eighteen months straight. I made a few good things on there, mostly redstone-based.

You guys like sticking to one world at a time? Or do you prefer making lots of new ones?

I switch fairly often to be honest, but that's only because when I play, I run a friends only server which gets trashed pretty quick.. lol..

I do not play in my worlds for that long. I usually play until I get bored of that day and eventually I end up deleting my world. I think I do not have the patience to keep the same world sometimes.

I go through worlds fairly quick and start new ones. Maybe I don't have the patience sometimes. But I don't see that as anything negative or so, just nice with a change from time to time.

I'm usually playing on my server, but when I play single player, I go back to 1.2.5 where all the good mods were. I still have EE2 installed there as well as most of tekkit classic :p

I used to have a 256 bit HD mod which worked and looked really awesome. I later had Voltz, but now I play without mods cause Im lazy to get them.

I know a lot of servers still run 1.2.5, and a lot of people just don't want to update. I'd join them, but there aren't really enough people doing that to justify running a 1.2.5 server.

Until I get really, really mad at some stupid detail. It usually takes me weeks but it almost always gets there. The last time it was because for some reason my house was a spawn point for endermen and every night when it was set on hard they kept disassembling my house that I worked forever on. The only time I legit switched was after I beat the end, it's just not worth playing through all that again. It took me ages.

I play until I get bored of the game. Then I stop for a few months or even more. When I start playing the game again, I usually make a new world. So it varies, really. I spent half a year playing on one world, but less than a month playing on another. It all depends on the situation.

I normally don't start a new world unless my last one got deleted, whether it be from an accident or because I'm on a new computer. If I want a new area in my world, I just walk for a while and explore.

I'm a world-a-holic. I get way too excited to start up a new world and colonize the thing like crazy. In fact I usually get bored once I have a nice setup and have moved on to just maintaining the area. Oh well, maybe one of these days I'll find a world I can actually stick to for more than a month.

I'd say that I switch worlds on a regular basis out of boredom and in order to find more interesting layouts. I still go back and visit old worlds from time to time, but I like jumping around rather than sticking with the same ones.

However long my friend keeps it. I don't really have any local worlds that I play on regularly. Sometimes my friend will reset his server to start a new world. Usually last for about 6 months to a year before we switch.

I switch on a weekly basis, as I have a hard time concentrating on just one thing. The longest I've ever spent on one world is about one month. I'll spent a little bit more time if I start playing on it with friends.

It depends on the world really. I get bored easily and if I don't really like the landscape I tend to switch worlds. But the longest one I've played was about 3 months straight until my save file got murdered.

I don't really have the commitment to make a really nice world, so I usually switch through worlds very quickly and just delete old worlds.

It depends, really. If I haven't played Minecraft in a while before I start the world be sure that I will play a lot on it.
I try to make my house, build some farms and then see if I like it. If it attracts me I start to build automatic farms, xp farms and so on.

I got past the point of playing on singleplayer worlds a long time ago, but when I did, it was probably a couple weeks. Now, I'm usually playing modpacks or vanilla SMP servers, and those last a long time. I have a blast with my friends, so we usually end it after like a month or two, then immediately start back up again :)

I play a different world when I got bored of the previous one. That's about a monthly basis if the world is getting too boring or too difficult or if things don't go according to plan for me.
