I think they are trying to beat Duke Nuken Forever for the record holder of longest development time for a game Jokes aside, It really has been a long while! I get that they want to polish everything to be the finest quality, so yeah......(The trailers look amazing though) Also this game was reported to be an Action RPG like Kingdom Hearts, so I am pretty excited as I love the gameplay in Kingdom Hearts. What about you guys? Any thoughts about the upcoming game?
It's amazing, but it has been in production since roughly April 2006. That's almost eight years in the making and it's still not finished. I believe the reason is because of the lack of good content combined with the fact that much of its development teams have been moved around to work on other projects. Since it has been going on for so long, it might be deliberately delayed to prepare it for a port to the next generation console system.
I have to say it's almost a decade now but it's still not Duke Nukem long although it's catching up. I remember FF Versus XIII being announced when FFXIII was announced and I've been waiting and waiting to a point I've forgotten about it. I thought the game was scrapped until it was reannounced to be FF 15.
It'll probably be repackaged to FF17 and will be released in 2024, officially breaking Duke Nukem record. Okay, joke aside, i think it has been in development for about 8-9 years now. Really wish they would release it next year.
I think it's been almost a decade, if not more than a decade. That's a long ass development time, hopefully it's worth the wait.
