How many discs will be required for the console versions of last light?

Yes it will have Two Billion discs, one for each minute of game time. That is unless you bought an original version in which you get the full game on one disc that can be used only once.

It all depends on how much data they have. If they're going to make a multiplayer I would like them to have two discs. Like how BF3 has it and Halo 4. I'm most likely going to buy it when I get my gaming PC.

 

It's very likely to be on one disk, because (at the moment) Last Light features only a linear campaign that (probably) takes about 8 hours, which does take as much space as an open world or multiplayer game.

Well Skyrim is HUGE and it's only one disc. I find it better when companies put sections on different discs for console since it makes it so the game can be bigger, thought iwth BF3 they had to take away a ton of the graphics and have people down load them because of the size of the game.

I think they might make it bigger since they said it will be AT LEAST the length of 2033 and knowing how 4A was given permission to do what they want I would think they would just keep adding and adding.

 

One disc is the most probable outcome but not guaranteed... If that helps.

 

Max Payne 3 came on two discs (for xbox anyway) the gameplay was pretty short, but the ammount of long cut scenes must have took up more space. It really added to the game though, as its a game of two parts -

At the end of disc 1 the girl Max was supposed to be protecting is kidnapped, he realises hes been set up. Drinking heavily, he blames himself. He shaves his head in the bathroom and vows to quit drinking and get her back. Throughout disc 1 all the action is set in the rich areas of Sao Paulo.

When you switch to disc 2 Max is sober, has grown a beard. He knows where the kidnappers are holed up, and hes going after them. The game now takes place in the slum shanty towns of Sao Paulo. Its a great turning point in the game. The first part being all about Max's downfall, the second part a destructive road to redemption. Possibly my favourite of 2012, though its not to everyones taste.

So what im saying is, sometimes having a game on two discs can add pace and tension to a game... but with Metro Last Light? We will have to wait and see...

 

I'm not sure if I was trying to be funny nor was I trying to be a asshole, I guess I was making fun of games that have 1-3 discs. I mean what game has three discs? L.A Noir had three discs and it didn't feel like that big of a game.

It is hard to tell exactly how many discs there will be but if I had to guess, there will be one disc.

 

Um, it's not like he's wasting your time, you know. We have a pretty long time until the game's release... assuming it is still being released in March. If you can't take a joke, then perhaps this isn't the right forum for you. If you think Apollo here is a dick, then that makes us all dicks.

Anyway, I don't mean to make you drown in your butthurt, so I'll answer the question too. The game will most probably be on just one disc (like Metro 2033), due to its short time and linear structure (in terms of exploration). If the graphics have been really amped up this time and the console version has high textures, then Last Light will probably come on to two discs on the Xbox 360 since it doesn't use Blu-ray. However, I doubt that will be the case, since the console versions of the game look much worse than their PC counterparts and don't use Directx 11, so the size of the game should be much smaller.

This just made me realize...
We who've got good enough computers can run the graphics on much higher settings than even possible settings on Xbox.... So that laves me to only one conclusion:
Point at all Xbox-players who are Last Light fans and say
