    Giantbomb (who have a pretty comprehensive database) claim to have over 20000 games on their list. But I don't think it's possible to measure exactly how many video games there are.

    Agreed. Their first post is just a random question totally unrelated. Not saying hello or anything, just asking something totally random.

    We should watch this person closely...

    And to answer the question, you have to define game. Do you count only released games? Do you count free online games/flash games? Do you count different versions of games as different games? It's impossible to tell, but I'm sure there's much over 1,000,000.
