How much money have you put into WoW?

The question is as simple as that. How much money do you think you've put into World of Warcraft over the years? I don't even have a guess on my end, let's put it that way.

Too much honestly. Thankfully a number of things were paid by other people, but still. Switching servers on my main and sometimes factions to boot to help some guilds get their raids completed wasn't cheap.

    well 15 x 12 x 10 = 1800
    plus $40 x 5 = 200

    so right about $2000

Would you guys and gals say the investment has been worth it, though? I would say so for me, at least. I don't mind how much I've put into the game when I consider all of the fun I've taken from it in experiences and whatnot.

Honestly I couldn't say. I had a subscription when it first came out so was the purchase price of the box plus a year and a half worth of subscription. Then I stopped until Burning Crusade, at that point I bought a new copy of the game with all expansions and played for about another year worth of subscriptions.

Then I stopped again until a few months ago where I purchased everything again and am still paying the subscription up until now..

So quite a lot in total. Plus I have about 4 copies of the game but can only remember one log in :p

I've only recently started, so: buying main game + one month subscription + transfer my main to play with my friend.
    Not that much....yet :O

Definitely worth it. If you play 4 hours per week, then it is less than $1 per hour. It really depends on your financial situation though. There are definitely very fun free2play games, but for me, it is worth paying the $15 to play a stable and balanced game without feeling like the devs are tugging at my wallet every 5 seconds ingame.

Way too much, I'm afraid to even get an estimate. Even though I thoroughly enjoyed my time on Azeroth and Outland, I "wasted" quite a bit of money on it, money I could have spent better.

I think the money was/is worth it. Since I play a fair amount, the small sub is justified considering that WoW is one of the most complete MMOs on the market.

The price to see a movie at a theater is like $10 for an adult for about 1.5-2 hours of entertainment. Dinner for 1 or 2 ranges from $10-50 easy depending on how fancy you want to get. Museum tickets are about $20 per adult for a couple hours of looking. Going to a State run major park for a day is about $5-20 to get in, not to mention the cost of gas and food. National Parks are in the $20 range to get in alone.

The only thing that beats a WoW sub in terms of hours for entertainment would have to be the public library. The reason why I say this is because books/movies are free to check out and you can check out as many as you're interested in. I can burn through a 500 page book in about 2.5-3 hours.

Since I'm a very new player compared to most, I've not put that much in. I paid $60 for the new expansion (Blizzard gave me the rest for free) and then a couple months in subscription.
My husband and I both just paid 3 months in advance and for me... I think I've had a subscription since October?
Blizzard gave me a free trial in September and I think I had a couple weeks for free from a referral.

Besides the expansions, I've been paying for the game for the last 4 years, so while I could crunch up the numbers and give you an exact sum, it would be rather big and I'm pretty ashamed by it. I guess it's somewhere close to 2000$, both for my main account and for my brother's account, which is also paid by me.

    Welcome to the addiction!

I never worry about the grand total I spend on something, that is more of a month-too-month issues. I would hate to think of how much I spent on Coke for example.. but each month it is only a few dollars.

With this topic, what really kills me with some forums for new games is how many people admit to upgrading their computers to play a certain game.

Well, let's see. 7 years and 15$/month subscription. Not counting the expansions and 2 other account which I made over time. So yea, a lot of money. More than I should anyway...

Most likely about 1000$! Though it was worth it in my opinion. You're never at a loss of things to do in WoW, and it has always kept me entertained.

That's a lot! But if I draw the line and do my own math, i'm probably around that same sum. Jesus, I could've bought so many blackjack tokens with that money.

Yeah it is, but I've been playing on and off since it first came out, plus the price of the base game and the expansions. So it really adds up without you paying attention, especially the subscriptions!

I have gotten subscription from RAFing friends and only payed for 2 expansions. So around 100$ I have never been up to date with this game when it comes to releases, gotten away with it pretty cheap, thankfully.

Doing the math probably 1k personally and about 2k from others who have paid for my transfers, gifts, ect. It's not that bad considering that it's kept me entertained for a crud ton of hours and the bulk of the expenses were paid for me.

I don't have any idea. I also have no intention of calculating it. $15 dollars a month plus the occasional upgrade is cheap entertainment in my book. Besides, we can pay with game gold now.
