How much time do you think it will pass until this game will be passed on and forgotten by time, the same way World of Warcraft has been. I'm believing that in only has a year or two at most, until it is completely forgiven, as MOBA games seems to be appearing all of a sudden, I'm waiting to see the big clash.

Nah.. I estimate that League Of Legends will still be up in early '20s. The way it's going now and the way Riot is making money, it seriously looks like they're saving money for advertisment in case the game goes down. Honestly, I think League of Legends will still dominate the MOBA world for some time.

It's here to stay, honestly. It set the bar up for E-Sports and it's the biggest online game out there. It gets more than 500K viewers when LCS is around and millions at the World Championship. If Counter Strike has been able to stay relevant, so will League.

Has World of Warcraft been forgotten? I'm pretty sure there are a ton of people that still play it. I don't see League going anywhere anytime soon.

I feel old thinking about counter strike. I remember Counter strike being huge back when I was in middle school and it's amazing it's still relevant. That game was around before broadband.

I have to say that I agree with the game not going anywhere anytime soon. The game doesn't seem to be losing any steam and tons of people are still pouring money into it. I think that they are going to continue going strong especially since the game is seen as an awesome game for esports. It has options that sets it aside from other MOBAs and I like it more than most of the ones I've played. It's beginner friendly yet extremely hard to master and the replay value in the game is phenomenal. Best of all, it's free! You really can't beat that when it comes to gaming.

I think it has at least around a decade more of life left. At this point, with all the big tournaments and how big it has gotten I think too many people now depend a lot on it that it will be kept alive by individual interests alone. I'm no expert but I think the way this is different from all previous games is that it has a very big competitive scene unlike any other.

It'll grow even bigger as esports gets bigger. it's a good point that it's a game that is easy to learn right off the bat, while also being difficult enough to have pro level players. Those attributes will keep it around indefinitely.

It has a good following and large enough market to stick around for a while. It has enough of the current market that it would take a yet to be released MOBA to really steal away it's players. Otherwise, it will continue to grow.

It's still in the top games in the world. Dota 2 may be catching up, but there's enough market and gamers for both. As long as the updates keep mixing things up, the items and heroes are balanced for competition, and newer gamers get a chance to learn the game without having to deal with the toxic online community, I don't think we can say that LoL is on its way out the door any time soon.

IMO at least another 10 years, and if they don't come up with any new updates. WarCraft III's DotA 1 still has a small following to it, more than 13 years down the road.

I think it'll last for a long time. The following this game has is astounding and I don't see its popularity dwindling any time soon.

People just don't really understand how big league is around the world. It has a massive following that isn't going to magically disappear anytime soon. Even when other games are out there, it's still by far the biggest game.

As long as they make the appropriate updates, league will survive for a while. They've always done a relatively good job with updating heroes when they are needed. It'll keep getting bigger as esports continues to grow.

I agree. Just by the fact that so many people now depend on it as their main employment is already reason for it to be kept alive by everyone involved. Without this a lot of events, players, commentators, etc. would be out of a job so it's in their best interest that this game stays alive and well for years to come.

I think League of Legends will be around for a long time. The free to play design of LOL is the best I've ever seen/experienced. F2P is a slippery slope and difficult to keep balanced and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of what they spend. League has that unique trait where your "poor" friends can still play with you and have the same experience, and access to the same things in game. Aside from fun things like skins, and getting stuff faster by paying for RP, you don't lose out on anything by not spending a dime. You just have to devote more time to playing to earn the things you need to buy with IP. A wonderful business model. Additionally, League was, the last time I checked, the most popular online game. I've personally been playing it since shortly after it came out, and aside from a couple of times where I got frustrated with ranked or online friends and took a hiatus, I've been playing fairly steadily since I first downloaded it. I don't feel bored or unchallenged by the game at this point, so I doubt I ever will. It's just a great game all around, and as long as they keep updating it to stay current, and don't alter the F2P system, it's going to be going a long, long time.

League has millions of players playing worldwide. I honestly don't think the game will even die down given a specific time frame. Noting that it's also free to play will attract new players each time. All League has to do at this point is to not do any stupid updates and keep the game at a steady pace. I can just imagine any imbalances or broken things will severely affect the game and community as a whole. Look at the prize pools for League as well. It's always in the millions comparing to DotA 2. So as an overall statement, I don't think the game will die as long as Riot doesn't do any stupid updates. Otherwise I see this game being very prosperous.

League has a lot going for it at the moment. It's got a big pro league that will continue to attract players and adding to the millions of players that already play the game. I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon.

League is always updating and everything so I don't think the more experienced players will ever quit. Unless there's some kind of game-breaking update or scandal. But I'm more worried about what will happen when the older players go away. League has gotten this reputation (that it deserves) of being really toxic towards new players. Hell, it's the only reason I don't play ranked. I actually only play with real life players when they're the people I already know. Otherwise I play with bots.

LOL still has inertia on it´s side. DOTA2 and HOTS are only really getting the fringe players. Most players are still with LOL and new players go there more than the others. I played HOTS, and even on their forums people talk about LOL being ´the big league´.
