My daughter loves mine craft and she has been playing since she was five. Most of the time she plays on creative mode but she will play survival if I'm there to protect her, She doesn't like the monsters to much they scare her. Every time we go down into a cave or something she says oh no the monsters will get us.

She loves the creative aspect though and she has made some beautiful and creative things I would never have thought of before. Its like a big brick playground for her. It has helped with her math skills to. She is completely addicted and would be on all the time if she could.

Do you think children should play?

Absolutely I think children should play. Minecraft, particularly survival, teaches patience, a trait that is lacking in the people of the world as of late. However, one should be weary of how addictive it is.

Oh yeah but I think smaller children who are easily frightened should play creative first..

I don't plan on having children, but if I DID - I would get them into minecraft as soon as I could. What a wonderful safe place for them to learn so many things - math, creativity, even some agriculture! I think the "right" age is different for every child. If they are scared of the monsters, it's a ripe opportunity to help ease them into understanding the difference between video game or movie monsters, versus anything that can harm you in real life. But if they are too young to grasp that these monsters are not real, they probably shouldn't be playing video games where you are expected to be able to separate real life from the fantasy.

I think that Minecraft is a fine game for all ages. It doesn't really have any bad violence, there is no blood or any gore whatsoever, I don't think mobs turning red qualifies as any kind of gore. It also is a reasonably fun game, where anyone can express their creativity by building or if they just want to mess around, they can turn on creative mode and just blow things up.

Minecraft has so much diversity it's fit for all ages, and in fact my 3 year old niece plays it with me sometimes and loves it. Even old people can play, since the controls are so simple as well as the game, and there are no confusing effects or graphics to deal with. It's obviously made for the 7-14 year old age groups, and for the majority that's what it is. There are a few people older than 17, but they don't always reveal themselves so it's hard to tell. Minecraft can be modified and changed in any way to add blood, better graphics, etc, that would make it appeal to different age groups.

MC doesn't have an age limit I think because it doesn't really have mature themes and the graphics aren't really that much detailed so if you're worried about gore and stuff you won't have a problem. It's great for kids since it builds on your imagination and creativity as a player.

Pretty sure the majority of people that play Minecraft are like 4-18 years old. You can get that idea just by watching Minecraft Youtube videos, all of the people sound like they are super young. Minecraft isn't violent, so any age should be perfect for it. I mean if you had a really graphic texture pack, the zombies might scare little kids. That isn't the case most of the time though.

Minecraft is recommended for all ages, it doesn't matter if you are too old or too young, it's for everyone!
In some server where I play, a lot of players are 13 or 14 years old, but there are also adults who play too.
A lot of adult youtubers always record their Minecraft gameplay.

Well I think as long as your kid knows how to play the game you can pretty much give to her. Since the game doesn't have any mature themes it's pretty much okay for a kid I guess.

Creative mode is good to go for any age (if the kid can handle basic computer tasks of course). The monsters might be scary though for some young ones I guess.

I don't know if the monsters really scare her or if its the aspect of dying that bothers her. Ever time she dies in survival the way she goes on about it you would think she actually died. Me and her dad tell her that its part of the game we die sometimes to still she dose not like it.

Minecraft is one of the few games that is age appropriate for just about all ages. The mobs can be a little frightening for young children, but that's what peaceful mode is for. I'd let a two year-old play Minecraft, assuming they wouldn't just break the keyboard or controller while using them.

I let my 10 year old brother play it. He really enjoys playing it more than I do. This game is not at all harmful for children. So I say we should let them play it.

Five is probably fine. It may be a bit too scary if you have zombies and stuff on though.

This game has no age limit I believe. I think anyone could actually play it, more kids play it then adults. This game is rated E for everyone in my opinion, so EVERYONE can play it.

I think it's okay for children to play Minecraft. Creative mode is the safest to play for them because there are no monsters. I think if they want to play on survival mode I think they need someone to be with them while they are playing.

All ages should be allowed to play. If they can't handle survival because it freaks them out, just put it on peaceful.
