How to balance Pvp?

    What do you think is needed to balance PvP and arenas? As of now, it's extremely comp-based and several classes have such a huge advantage over others. Do you think the new WoD changes of taking away CC and abilities will fix some of the issues?

    For me, what I loved about arena back in the day is you could pretty much run anything to relative success. Now, if you're not running the FoTM comp, you'll be hard-pressed to get out of 1700.

    In my opinion it is not possible for such developed game as WoW to completely balance the PvP to such level where you can run any composition and be succesful. Of course, skill should be the most important factor, and I agree that now in MoP there are quite overpowered compositions which should be nerfed, but I think it is a good thing that particular classes have synergy with other ones and that makes the arena batles interesting if players manage to use this synergy to their on advantage.

    But MoP has been horrible about allowing different sort of comps to be viable. Obviously, there's going to be T1 comps that are the FoTM and do well, like LSD does. But one of the most fun things to me about Arena Pvp back in WoTLK and Cata was you could play pretty much anything and be competitive with it. That's not the case today, it's far too dependent on certain comps. 95% of the time, you know if you're going to win in the starting room.

    I've been pvping in many games, the sad part about balance/nerfs/buffs is that is actually quite funny/amusing. Not many games are balanced in general Chess comes to mind. But let's put that away. The moment something change automatically something will be stronger because thats the way game mechanics interact. OP classes appear in every little change the game devs make. If you want balanced pvp it would be something like everybody played the same class with the same tree and same items and you know what is the funny part ? It still wouldn't be balanced for X reasons, terrain pathing etc etc.

    So many changes could be made to make the game more balanced, but something is always going to be slightly unbalanced as far as giving one class or style of play an advantage over most of the others.
