Hunger Games servers?

    I have only played a few rounds of the popular Hunger Games mod online.
    My experience was pretty lack luster. After waiting several minutes to actually get into a game, most players seemed to die within seconds.
    Can someone please explain the appeal of it to me? I fail to see the fun in it.
    Feel free to provide some links to good Hunger Games servers and maybe I will give it another shot.

    The fun of it is survival! I mean I did a couple. I didn't even try to get any weapons, I just ran the other way and hid. I guess the fun of it is that it is like the hunger games, if you liked the movie then you would like it. Well the hiding thing did kind of work, It was down to me and some other guy and he killed me due to having diamond armor.

    Agreed. It's all about strategy of looking to find gear and weapons and hiding and running away. I do both, depending on how I'm feeling during that game and what I think will lead me to possibly winning the match. It's especially fun when you get with people who don't know how to play and they lead to really easy kills.

    The Hive is a really good minecraft server (google it) but it's packed full fo experts in mini games and you might have a hard time doing good in most games but it can teach you how to play properly.

    I think it's fun because it's sort of like a mashup. You're putting two very popular things together, letting people have even more fun. Above all, it's just another game mode and will not appeal to everyone. Personally, I like it because it emphasizes the topics of survival and risk in knowing when to go out and look for tools or when to stay put because of the fact that you could die at any moment.

    I did a few and it was fun for maybe a little while but it didn't last. I'm just not a huge fan of PvP in general but I do think the idea is pretty interesting. The one I played on had randomized maps that looked lovely. There were so many different places to go and explore and lots of hidden treasure so it looked very appealing to me. But in the end, I enjoy taking my time to enjoy things in Minecraft and you can't do that as much when you're busy hunting people down and escaping from being hunted.

    I really like the Hunger Games just because it's almost a new Game Mode. I think the developers should really work on making some new game modes for vanilla minecraft. Survival, creative, and adventure is fun, but there could definitely be more. What about a mode where you have to finish specific achievements in order to get more materials?
