I can't be the only person who hates mining?

I hate mining! It's the most boring and tedious thing I could ever think of! And while I am at it I hate chopping trees, that is the most horrifying thing I could think of.

Hate hate hate both of them!

I also find mining really dull and hate having to do it. Although it's rewarding in the long run, it's extremely tedious and I wish there was an easier way to do it. Like quarries.

Nah, I like mining, because it gives me to ocassion to build my mine while I do it, I build nice structures, I lay down railways, built the carts to go fast from one place to another, altough I rarely did that because its kind of time consuming, I usually just have rooms and hallways and ladders or stairs that lead out of the mine :)

I don't really care too much for mining, although it is one of the core concepts of the game. If you don't mine, that's quite a lot of the game that's been cut out right there. Either way, there are ways around it, with mods like EE3, or servers where you can buy/sell items (either from the server or from people).

Mining out an area to prepare for a project is the most boring part of the process. I just find that it is very tedious and time consuming. However, in the end, it is worth it because now I have a lot of stone and room to build.

You're not alone. I also hate mining. Just the fact that you have to spend half the time just clobbering dirt and stones just to reach a couple of ores and then back to dirt and stones again. It's not like you can make something useful out of the dirt to make it worth the dig.

I disagree. As a person who is creatively challenged, mining is about the only thing I find interesting. Exploring the vast caverns, striking gold - literally - and finding a few diamonds are my favorite parts of the game. Guess it's whatever floats your boat...

Well it's part of the game so we can't really do anything about it. But I do hate it, it's tedious and for the most part very boring. I used to just hang up on the game whenever I can't find a sweet spot to mine and almost 90% of the time I only get coal and dirt piled up on top of one another and you really have to mine deep just to find the goods.

And also it doesn't help that you're tools wear off from time to time so you have to go back and forth and craft more mining equipment and if you happen to run out of supplies and you're into the deep of your mining cave then you have to go back up. It's really annoying but that's what makes the game so great.

I hate mining too. It's one of the reasons why I've been playing Minecraft less and less due to its repetition.

I really like mining and exploring. It's really fun to me to see what I will be able to find next. It stops being fun when it becomes a grinding for diamonds :p

Mining is quite possibly the most boring thing in Minecraft.

I don't really hate mining but if I mine for too long I'll get bored.

Unlike a lot of other people, I actually love mining for resources and to make tunnels throughout the map. I prefer collecting my resources rather than having them just given to me infinitely.

I know what you mean, mining just gets far too repetitive after a while, but it's interesting how it's like 80% of what you do in the game and we still love playing it :)

Personally, I love mining as far as building a mountain/cave home or exploring caves. If it's chunk mining, it gets repetitive and boring. It's not as boring as some things in the game, but it's still really tedious if you're digging out a giant chunk for some reason.

I wouldn't go as far as hating mining. Mining can be boring IF my sole purpose was to look for iron, diamond and gold. However, I tend to do mining as an extension to exploring. So mining to me is more like an anxious prelude to finding something yummy. Will I find iron? Will my next dig plop me into an underground river? How about an abandon mineshaft with intricate tunnels? Maybe it will lead me into a ravine that opens up to a cool looking biome?
