I think MC needs more hostile nighttime mobs

I wish MC would have way more mobs and night time would be much more dangerous. I really do.

I also wish friendly mobs would turn vicious at night, like some of the mobs in Zelda. If I had the coding knowledge I would make all mobs except player owned dogs and cats turn hostile at night. It would make things interesting! You'd walk past a chicken and it would chase you with its fangs snapping and bright red eyes ha ha :D.

It would be even more awesome if they could chew through fences or knock gates down in their effort to get to you if you were 5 blocks away (but you'd have some time and warning obviously).

I hope not. Those freaking things are already very annoying and a pest to deal with. I don't want to see more of these nuisance come preying on me.

You should go sleep at night then ha ha. It's more fun when it's challenging to find a spot to set up and setting up is deadly!

I remember my first time ever on MC. It took me so long to build a house and it was so simple because I couldn't mine at night and it was both terrifying and thrilling! I used the daytime to mine, and the night time to build the house (especially inside). Every now and then I would get stuck in the mine and I remember looking out from my little one block window at the house wondering if I should risk it ha ha.

Sometimes spiders would get into the house and it was scary! I met my first Enderman by staring at him from a window. Oops ha ha. :D (at the time both of those were by far the scariest mobs ever to me)

The problem is that the beginning can be fairly difficult already in higher difficulties, but after you've prepared yourself a little, it gets to be way too easy. It'd be interesting if the mobs scaled.

I agree. Being able to dig a hole down and surviving the night without any trouble almost seems too cheap. You should be on the run, trying to survive and all of that during the night. Having a good house that is fenced and etc should actually be rewarded by being able to survive a horde of enemies that tear down weak constructs and so forth.

But no friendly mobs should not turn evil. I like having farms.

Oh, hell no! The night time is already dangerous and you would like to make it even more so? Friendly mobs turning hostile during night time would make absolutely no sense. :p Chickens and pigs don't go crazy at night in the real world either. But then again, real world isn't blocky nor does it have zombies and skeletons.

Yeah, I'll second the motion. I would like some really agro stuff coming after me. After a while you just end up using the same strategies over and over. In any case maybe it is time to be able to create enemies. A feature that is missing? I don't know maybe.

I wouldn't mind it if you could toggle it like a difficulty setting or something. Playing that way all the time would get frustrating after awhile and hinder you from gameplay at some point.

A higher difficulty that includes more hostile mobs would make plenty of sense, but most people that play casually don't want to face more mobs at night. The overall community wouldn't like such an addition made to the core game on all difficulties.

I wouldn't mind more mobs, really. When you have the gear and gameplay experience, the current mobs really aren't any match. I'd like a difficulty that adds more unique mobs rather than the plain mobs we have now. I know there's already different mods implementing this, but I think vanilla needs more mobs.

Maybe at higher difficulties, sure. If people really want that challenge, I don't see why they shouldn't incorporate it.

I think they should put a slight twist on the mobs, make it so you actually have to try to survive all the time. Because as of now all you need is a 4x4 dirt house, no door, a torch, and one wheat crop. You just use the torch as light to grow wheat, eat the wheat, and dont have to worry about mobs as they cant get thought solid dirt. It just too easy. They should have mobs that tear apart your whole house, form clans, maybe even make shelters of their own. It would be a proper survival war where every little thing would be needed and used. There is still so much potential for this game, and I hope Mojang uses it :).

No way in hell, I think the night is hostile enough. Specially those stupid witch mobs, one hit from their poison as a beginner and you just might as well stand there and die. I would go for some spell casters though, getting hit by a fireball in the face by a Wizard would be cool.

I think they should just make the monsters develop into something much more difficult. I like how it is to start out, but you're right. After a while there needs to be more challenge to survive... kind of like nazi zombies but more gradual.

I wouldn't like that, at all. I'm glad there are only a few. Personally, the only thing I would like to see is non-hostile mobs that spawn at night, but maybe they could be pretty rare, or something like that.

That sounds like something to add to a higher difficulty level. I'm loving that Zelda reference though. I wouldn't mind it I guess. I like frantically preparing to be attacked lol.

I think the amount of mobs are great currently, the game isn't based off killing mobs, but off surviving them. Spiders are good during the day time, bad during night time if you didn't know.

No, I'm pretty sure the game is pretty well balanced the way it is to be honest..

    That would be pretty cool!

They would turn nice in the morning, you just wouldn't be able to farm at night ha ha.

EXACTLY!! It gets really boring fast when you've set yourself up. You almost have to dump all your stuff and start again from scratch every time you do a new build just to get the thrill. It's so heartbreaking!

How? All it would do is make it so you avoid all mobs at night. I don't see how that's going to hinder you from gameplay.

That would be awesome but I would hate my builds being eaten through. It would be cool if they ganged up on me though ha ha.
