Ignea Corda

250 years ago, in the continent of Elona, a threat in the form of a fallen god, Abaddon, had arisen, and a small group was formed to combat this malevolent deity. This band of humans, these brothers in arms, pledged their life on the line in order to expel this ancient evil from the world of Tyria, and allow a new Golden Age to rise from the ashes. These men were not a huge army combating their equal, nor were they gods; they were just ten men, joined together in their noble cause to defeat Abaddon. Fate declared that they would stand no chance, but they would not let any old prophet define their fates. They ventured into the Realm of Torment and against the odds defeated this malevolent god, and thus saved the realm of Elona and sealed their names in history forever. Their story was woven into legend, being passed down throughout the years from father to son, mother to daughter. Not only in Elona, but also among their enemies in Cantha had their names been renowned. Even in Tyria, where many had not seen them set foot, it was said that they explored the land and lent aid to those races in need; from Humans and Charr, to Asura and Norn. Their names were stuff of legend, yet as the war between the races of Tyria deepened, much about the valiant effort of the heroes was forgotten, and their names faded into the dust, there to remain for many years.

250 years later, in the present day, the ancient dragon Zhaitan and his undead armies rose from the sea, vowing destruction on all of the races of Tyria. The five races knew from experience that they could not win this war alone, yet the mistrust sewn between them throughout the years left them doubtful of whether an alliance would last. The nobles of the cities hid in their estates with their masses of wealth, while the poor remained on the streets, begging every passer-by for some sort of aid. None came. The continent of Tyria was thrown into chaos, as the dragons returned to the world and began targeting the races one by one. It seemed as if there was no hope for Tyria; until they came. The five that stood up to Zhaitan. In the famed city of Ascalon, a deal was made, between five members of the five races of Tyria, that they would not stand down and let Zhaitan take their land. They would take the fight to Zhaitan. In that moment, they declared something that would impact on the rest of the world, inspired by the now little-known stories that had been preserved by their families for several generations. They declared the revival of the Guild that had once saved so many lives, so many years ago, and what was to save so many lives once more. They were not the strongest fighters, yet their hearts were full of courage, and they were prepared to risk all to depose this imminent threat, and they encouraged anyone who would listen to them to join them in their fight against this evil. Wars were not to be won with solely iron and steel, but with the strength of their hearts.

This is the day the world changed. This is the day that Zhaitan was challenged. This is the day that Ignea Corda was formed.

Hello there, and welcome to the recruitment thread of Ignea Corda! We are a reincarnation of a Guild Wars 1 guild called Warriors Inferno, but this time reformed in order to fight against the greatest threat in the history of Tyria! The name 'Ignea Corda' is Latin for 'Fiery Hearts', though not in the sense of a heart being on fire, but in the sense of hearts that are full of fight and fire to keep going - a Heart of Courage. At the moment this is a relatively small Guild (between 5-10 members at the moment), however we are a friendly and tightly knit community, and we'd be keen for you to join our ranks!

We do not have any restrictions to join this guild, except to actually play Guild Wars 2! There are no level or age requirements, all that we ask is that you are enthusiastic about the game and that you respect all members of the guild. We will be running events within the Guild, such as group questing, dungeons, and PvP, though none are compulsory to attend; we understand that some events may not be to your taste, and also that at the end of the day real-life commitments do come first. We also are especially keen on WvWvW and try that out, so if you're looking for a Guild that will take part in WvWvW, maybe we're the guild for you. We don't specialise in PvP events, but we don't specialise in PvE either; we're an all rounder guild with something for everyone to enjoy.

We do not currently have a forum though one is in the making (and we'll also have a mini forum on this site, hopefully!).
