Who did you join? I joined the Imperials and have actually enjoyed the story with them, I never really gave it much thought when I chose them. Much to the disgust of my friends...
I have 2 characters in the game, one Stormcloack and one Imperial. My highest leveled character is with the Imperials, and that's the most enjoyable storyline. I don't see why people fanboy over one though
It annoys me too. My friends are only joking obviously when they do it, but they really do seem to have something against the Imperials. I think the missions and storyline is a lot better with them, but I haven't tried the Stormcloaks.
I joined the Stormcloaks. They were more my type than the Imperials. Ohh the pleasures I got for completing the dark brotherhood quest line as a stromcloak.
I have to agree with Battleaxe and SwordHungry. I don't understand fanboyism much less being a fanboy in a video game. I personally enjoyed the Imperial's storyline but I am sure I would enjoy the Stormcloaks' storyline too.
I waited a long time till I chose between the Imperials and Stormcloaks, simply because I didn't know who to pick. In the end, I heard somewhere that Imperials were for Heavy Armor, and Stormcloaks for Light. So I went for Imperials, and their story line was pretty neat. But I haven't tried the Stormcloak story line yet, though.
Kian I had the exact same problem, and that's one of the biggest things I hated about Skyrim. You don't really have that much info to base a super important decision on! It's like "hey this is one of the biggest quest lines in the game, want to join the government dudes or the rebels?" and that's it. I too waited quite a while and then resorted to google to find out which I should join.
It was a hard decision for me because why help the imperials they tried to kill you at the beginning of the game and if you join the Stormclokes you want the Nords to rule everything like they took the land from the Forswarn I hate both groups, but I sided with the Imperials just because my toon was a high elf.
I like to switch it up every time i start a new game. It's fun to play through the different quest lines instead of just sticking with a single one.
I have played the game multiple times and I've tried both Stormcloaks and Imperials. I'd say I prefer joining the Stormcloaks, Ulfric seems a bit nicer than those Imperials. Anyway, your real contribution isn't much appreciated on neither sides.
Ulfric might be soft spoken, but he is an evil man if you don't side with a group and you have to come up with a truce just listen how he talks you will change the way you view him.
I will say this though, I fought for the Imperials, bled and killed for the Emperor, and when it was all through, they ditched me...thank you for your service, "you are free to roam"...quite frankly it drove me a bit mad, drove me into the arms of the Dark Brotherhood like a Ronin to the Oni.
Stormcloaks for me. I've noticed this pattern in my gaming that I'll usually always join the faction that opposes Imperials/Imperialists/the Empire. Guess it's in my blood to fight for the underdog I gotta say I was very disappointed that I couldn't marry Ulfric. There couldn't have been a better end for my game than the legendary, amazing Dragonborn (female Nord thief/assassin/general ass-kicker) marrying the High King of Skyrim and ruling the land together.
I don't understand why people like Stormcloaks so much I can understand if your playing a Nord, but every other class would be looked down by the stormcloaks seems like a bad trend to me.
I went with Stormcloaks just because I was bitter at the imperials for trying to behead me at the beginning. But now I read up on the lore a little and I realize that that was probably a bad choice
After playing both I'd have to say the Imperial's. The Stormcloaks are so racist and angry. We need a strong empire for the inevitable war that is to come between the Empire and the Elves.
It all depends on your play style, I like to be rebel outlaw battling against 'the man' so I chose the Stormcloaks, I've been hearing that the Imperial story line is alot better though, maybe I'll start a new character as an Imperial supporter...
