Hi guys, I recently picked up ArcheAge mainly because of two reasons: 1) Free-to-play: Can't stand subscription fees and I really appreciate a great game without them. 2) Class system: I thought the ability to choose a main class and a subclass later on gives the game a lot of potential in terms of variety. This is definitely a refreshing take on the class system when compared to games like Guild Wars 2 that lock you into one specific class.

Anyway, what do you guys think about the launch? I know it's been plagued with server issues (took me 2 hours to log in the first time) but once I got in, I had a great time doing the starter quests and learning my first skills. Also what do you guys think about aspects of the game like the quest tracker and class system compared to other MMO's?

It is pretty fun so far, I started playing it a bit ago. I can see it still has a few bugs left in it, but it is like that with any type of game I suppose. I can see their being a lot of potential in the game once they fix the servers and get them all in line.

Yeah, I was playing today and it seems as though their server problem is getting a little bit better (or perhaps there are just less people playing). I think they added two new servers (Ezi and Lucius) for North America, so I think it's much better since the queue is being dispersed and the server load across each server is being reduced. I really hope that Trion keeps this up! Archeage could be my go-to MMO for a while if they do.

Firstly, I think people complaining and flaming Trion should quit the game and go play something else. Every single MMO game on the planet released to this point in time has gone through a buggy lag-fest start. Queuing problems not so much for some bigger gaming companies, but besides that, I think people should learn some patience and at the very least, whoever brought them up as parents should be smacked upside their heads for raising such entitled impatient ignorant POS. Note that this is not directed at you, the OP and was directed at the ether.

Secondly, the game has its merits and it definitely tries to do more than the other games on the market such as self-governance, player collective cities, unique PvP, etc, but it promises too much and ends up only being able to cater to a small handful. Also, while it's Free To Play, it punishes former subscribers who stop being Patrons by taking away the ownership of their plots. This is a turn off for me and my wife.

Lastly, I played less than 10 hours on the game and although the questing system and the other features are nice, I find that I am finding my desire to want to continue waning. After 9.5 years of WoW, 2 years of SWTOR, a year of EVE, half a year of SWGalaxies and so on, ArcheAge still doesn't live up to my standards of fun and epicness. It feels like it's a child trying to be an adult.

I'm starting to think that it might not be the game for me, although I haven't really explored any other areas than simple questing and PvE combat. I don't think ArcheAge has innovated that much in this regard, nor does it feel as fluid as the "top tier" MMOs. I think I'll refrain on judgement for now though before I get to the elements that people consider make it a "sandbox" type MMORPG. Also, I haven't experienced naval combat yet, which I know is a big part of why this game had great success in Korea, so I'm still giving it a chance.

It's alot of fun for me. In the beginning quests are a bit tedious and it really feels like a grind, but 5 hrs in it picks up the pace. Also it's good to be in a guild especially with real life friends, much more fun that way. Nothing beats sailing on sea with your guild:). Overall I would rate it 7/10 becouse of boring quests.

    Some small issues, nothing major.

The game play is fun and the lagging will go away eventually, with that said it seem like a good game with potential which we will see in the future. I am not so pron on judging right away since you have to give every game a certain amount of space left for error. Of course that is time sensitive and the space gets smaller as time passes by. Eventually we will arrive at the time for merciless critic.

I'm still experiencing a few issues, but the game itself has been fun and pretty detailed compared to what I was expecting. I do like the class system and, of course, the free to play nature of the game. It's been a few hours now of fun more than not.

I have only just started, so just getting used to the controls and how it works. I think it should get better as, I play further into the game. It feels like World of Warcraft, where you can explore and create and fight others along the way.

I am very new to this game and I am really enjoying it. I love the graphics, something about a large open lush world hits it home with me. I am also a fan of the building styles and they overall villages and towns that are set up. I am not very good at the game because I have just started. I don't know how much time I will invest into the game because I have other games that I like to play. Overall, I am a fan of this game.

The release was absolutely disgusting for me, I think I picked the wrong server to play on because I could barely ever get on, I was always plagued with huge server connection queues, it was really unenjoyable. As far as the game itself, it's everything I expected and it is quite fun, they didn't change much at all from the Alpha/Beta, perfect that way.
