I found that crafting was essentially always a waste of time, it takes a lot of credits to craft, and the rewards are pretty negligible. Most crafted materials are cheap on the Galactic Trade Network, as aspiring crafters tend to dump them for cheap. It was always worth it to have at least 1 maxed out of each crafting type in your guild, as a way to dump unneeded raid gear, reverse engineering it for Bind on Equip armourings/mods and such for new members.

Crafting is only worth it for augment kits, augments, stims (you really need those three things to be viable in both pve and pvp) and for gearing yourself up in maxed gear as you level. Once you hit 50-55 any armor, weapons etc you can craft are useless and you will want to be earning coms to buy the high end gear.

ETA If you truly hate crafting just find a way to make enough money to buy all that stuff on the GTN which is always stocked with FOTM needs.
