Just a question before I dive into another MOBA : Is this game worth playing? I've heard mixed reviews about it and I've been playing Blizzard games for about 16 years now, in fact, I still play World of Warcraft. I'm a big fan of League of Legends and I've been looking around for another game because Warlords of Draenor is a horrible expansion. I'd like it if the community could give me some reviews or let me know what they think of the game so I can make a decision on whether I want to dedicate the time to another game or not. Thanks, guys!

I think it's a solid game if you enjoy Moba games in any way. I play it just as much as I do Smite and League, take that for whatever it's worth.

It is very much worth playing in my opinion. There are some subtle differences it has to make it feel unique enough and of course the heroes themselves add a lot to this factor. It's nice to use as a break from other games from time to time.

I think it's a great way to familarize yourself with the MOBA genre, and it's fantastic if you like Blizzard lore. However if you're a seasoned LoL/DotA player you might find the game too simplistic for your liking.

I don't think you will regret playing it. It is a very solid MOBA. I don't have much to complain about, although I'm still more of a League guy. Heroes of the storm can feel a little watered down in comparison.

The game is a lot of fun especially if you're playing with friends, more so than other MOBAs. The solo experience has been improving but it isn't the same as League or Dota. Hero diversity and familiarity with the characters from other Blizzard games is quite nice though, it is even more intuitive if you play any of those games so you can have an idea of the skillset concept from the get go.

I love HoTS. It's quite fast paced, there are a lot of really interesting heroes with very different playstyles and the objective based gameplay really helps to bring in some versatility. So definitely give it a try and see what you think!

Played dota for years switched to HOTS as i didnt have that much time to spend on dota + girlfriend. btw my hots mmr is 3,2k played since beta. So the summary:
HOTS has much lower entry barier than dota, matches are by far shorter (usually 17- 23 minutes) and high paced, you dont play individually but as a team. Since you cant be "the hero of the game" and do rampage by yourself it could be a little less addictive
    HOWEVER
The game is fun and you dont get bored easily as there are many maps + the pace of new hero releases is very high. In summary i recommend to try this if you want to play moba but dont want to invest 50+ hours learning and not be a complete trash and 2+ hours daily just to play 2-3 games/ stay at some decent skill level

Ahh yes Hoppit good point about the duration of a match. I think HoTS at around 20 minutes got it just right. I was at a friends place and he played a match of LOL and the first 10-15 mins were basically just BOOORIIING. :D

It's a good game if you like MOBAs. The matches are longer and little more interesting. It is much better with friends than solo however. You really need to play with friends to get the best experience.

The game really isn't that enjoyable on your own, because unlike other MOBAs you're not going to get 'fed' and carry your team in the way you can do it in other games. Heroes of the Storm is a much more team focused game, having objectives that can only be met with your team's help, and it can turn into a bad experience really fast. I'd suggest you try it out with some of the users in the forum or friends of yours interested in a new game.

In my opinion, HOTS is better than LOL just because there are some rules that limit the toxic players that are everywhere in LOL. The gameplay also supports more support type rolls without them feeling like a waste, there is more strategy than just everyone taking a lane.

I'm finding it to be better solo than I thought it would be. Well semi-solo anyway. It isn't as bad of an experience as people are making it out to be, still probably better with friends though.

For me, Heroes of the Storm is a MOBA game that strives to be unique. You can see its difference from all other MOBA games and maybe that's why I stuck with it already for a while. I love the graphics, first and foremost, and I think the developers did put in a lot of time to make it that way.

The gameplay is a great experience as well. I love that you don't need to spend money to play the game. Of course, spending money might put you in an advantage. But you can still enjoy the game without spending a single dime. There's no focus on items as well, it's mostly a game that is skill-based.

So is it worth playing? Yes, very much! You can play it for free and still have the same enjoyment level as with other paid games.

Definitely worth playing, if not only for the fact that you can get two Hots games in during the time of 1.5 league matches (often even less).

It has a small learning curve, a fun team fight based gameplay, and characters from a variety of games that you already know.

In Hots, 3 minutes in feels like its 20 minutes in compared to league, simply because of the quick team fights, and the abilities already unlocked.
