Or is it going to be a longevive game like WoW and define the Esports scene?

    Probably not.

League already defines the eSports scene for years now. It overshadowed older eSports games like Counter-Strike or Starcraft. At its current rate it's hard to see League falling, however it can only rise up more. It's a very diverse game in terms of geography--players all around the world play and have their own place in the competitive scene. So in general, League probably won't fall for a few more years.

Doesn't seem like it. It's been growing for the past few years. There's millions of players and viewers for the game! Doubt it will be falling down anytime soon.

I'm in the boat "It can only get more popular."

The skins. The esports scene. The constant updates. Fact it is free.

Too many elements will ensure this games success. And that's even excluding twitch streams and other people bringing light to the game as well.

Anyone that has seen LoL's popularity in esports and casual gaming knows that this is a stupid question. LoL is far from even reaching a decline period, and things still have room to grow. It's as simple as that.

It already has defined the eSports scene. It's also pretty accessible, so people will easily join and learn to be moderately good at it. When it comes to tournament prizes though, Dota 2 is number one at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few LoL pros make the switch.

I couldn't agree more. League of Legends is already completely defining the eSports scene. League has grown exponentially each and every year. I can hardly believe the amount of growth and change the game has seen since its release. I remember just how nostalgic it was playing on the original 3s map, realizing that Nunu seems to stomp every single champion I tried to play. Not knowing what boots were or why you should buy them XD. Oh god... Not my brightest days I can tell you that.

League is only going forward, the game basically creates a platform for gamers to become superstars much like a major league basketball team, and create diversity and strategies and its so addictive. The game will be ever changing with balancing mechanics and new champions and abilities and items to spice up the play style. Different compositions beat others. The list goes on and on. But yea... Lol back to the original consensus.. League is here to stay

The only problem with your reckoning is that it already does define the Esports scene and has managed to get so popular in South Korea that even Coca-Cola brands it on their soda cans, haha. We're yet to see something happening in Europe, but IMO this game is evergreen.

League will not die anytime soon. There are too many people invested in the game for it to die out, short of riot making a league of legends 2. Honestly unlike WoW League of Legends isn't harming the MOBA scene with its presence. Where as WoW crippled MMORPGs for quite a while since companies chased after money trying to emulate the game, and did more harm to the mmo community in the long run.
