So I am in bronze division on ranked, and I seem to yoyo like crazy. I seem to be able to quite quickly get from bronze 4 to bronze 1 over a week or so with almost no losses. Then when I am in bronze 1 I seem to be doing well, and then it all goes wrong...

I get teams where people go afk, disconnect, refuse to cooperate or just plain troll, and I plummet down the league table again....

I'm not a bad player, but I know I'm not hte best, but the thing which seems to be holding me back is crap teams rather than being out played.

    Anyone else find this?

If you truly belong in silver, you'll get there sooner or later. While climbing out of silver 5 in season 2, I'd constantly get to around 90 LP and go on a losing streak, or get to 100 and lose my placements. I decided to change up my champ roster, opting for J4 and Hecarim jungle and TF mid. This ensured that I'd play a significant role in every single teamfight or gank. Right after getting promoted to silver 4, I went on a streak up to silver 1 in about 3 days.

Pick a strong/hyper carry and work on your mechanics. The thing about bronze is that most counterpicks can be easily beaten just by being the better mechanical player (eg: dodging skillshots, poking and trading at the right times). Also, avoid watching videos of players less than diamond 3. Go to LolSkill.net, look up one of the top players for your favorite champ, and copy their builds or even spectate them. If possible, watch their streams, ask questions, and attempt to copy their playstyle.

One more thing - dying is good. Be extremely aggressive in lane. It's the quickest way to learning and abusing the absolute limits of your champion. For a week I watched Hao, a D1 Tryn player. I followed his build and watched most of the lane matchup recordings that he put up on YouTube. Within a week, I took the barbarian king on a rampage from gold 5 to platinum 3, beating out common picks like Teemo and Jax.

Everyone gets bad teams sometimes and it's actually less likely for you to get a disconnect on your team if you yourself won't disconnect since there are only four people on your team that can disconnect and five on theirs that can. With that said, if you play enough games you'll get to the rank you belong at. Just keep playing and you'll find that your team isn't always bad and sometimes it can be your fault too. The important thing is that you improve and in the long run you'll get better which in turn improves your rank.

It's probably just bad luck, or you get nervous or even too confident and you throw it all up.
Remember, teamwork is the key to winning games.

It's just like that sometimes. Find 1-2 champions you really like and master them. Forget about silver, you'll get into plat/diamond easily if you can.

Just bad luck man. Play enough games and everything should even out. There are only 4 other players on your team, but 5 players on the other team. Statistically, it should work in your favor provided that you're not the troll or the AFKer.

Usually your best bet for getting to gold is to pick carries and avoid support roles at all cost. Watching some pros play will definitely help you, but don't follow exactly what they do, becuase they are pros for a reason. If everyone could do what they do everyone would be a pro right ?:O
Contrary to what I'm saying, with my new account I'm playing with Leona only as support and I managed to get from 0 to gold in 20 games. Couldn't make it in my 10 placement games because I lost 3 times due to trolls going afk feeding on purpose picking stupid champs etc...
Generally if you are good with the champ you play even support can carry games. I usually try to assure that our ADC get's a lot of gold + suppresse their bot lane and so far that's lead to 14:1 stats with Leona in ranked.

If you're really good you can carry yourself out of bronze 1. Don't worry about getting a higher rank, just focus on improving your gameplay and once you are satisfied with yourself you should be increasing in rank like it's no problem. Focus on your mechanics and decision making.

I think that you are too confident and too nervous and you just throw it all away because that does usually happen. When people get too nervous they usually lose their games because they can think only of the promotion.

I think that AFKs and DCs in bronze is still carry-able. I've played on a friend's account in bronze and it was pretty easy. People in bronze are in bronze because they don't know how to capitalize on mistakes and they don't really go for objectives. Also, learning to last hit minions is a great skill that you'll need from the bottom to the top. All top tier players prioritize farming creeps by last hitting.

Just keep on practicing, man. If you deserve a high tier, you'll get there. I don't mean to brag, but I can rank up a Bronze account to Diamond within 3 weeks, playing at least 7 games a day. I've done so several times already.

Your best recourse would be to watch your game and not blame your opponents for their inaptness of playing. If you have afk opponents, I agree that there isn't much to be done on your end, but also understand that Riot doesn't enforce some kind of fairness treatment because it will encourage abuse from premade teammates/opponents.
    Just keep staying awesome. :)

Indeed. Be the odd one out. Eventually, you'll be good enough to carry yourself. :D

I know this might seem harsh, but if you truly are a good player, then you will carry yourself. Sure, having a bad team sucks, but everyone was thru it, and they got out of bronze. You have to strive to be the difference maker, or at least the equalizer.

I know, right? You just have to practice. I personally take it as a challenge every time a teammate disconnects... it makes the game even more fun, haha.

Are you an emotional player ?
I think you should try to focus more on your gameplay, and less on our teammates' gameplay. I'm gonna suggest something: watch your own VOD for a game where you thought "I couldn't possibly carry". You're bronze, and you're certainly not the only one with that same "My teammates are crap" mentality.
Golden rule of climbing: if you can't carry yourself out of a certain Elo, you deserve to be there. Don't let that bring you down though, you can always get better at something.

You should try duo-ing with someone, perhaps a friend or even another player you've played with in the past who did well on your team. That way, you can have one less person to worry about. People definitely get emotional, toxic, and angry in League, so it's best to just mute anyone who is detrimental to your game. You'll be able to focus more on your own game and might be able to carry your team with you :) Sometimes, your team just needs direction, and you should be the person to make the right calls (without sounding condescending, of course!) I can't tell you how many 4v5s I've won with just the team working together. Good luck!
