I recently bought a Kindle Fire HDX. I am wondering if there is any decent MMORPG made for it. If yes, what would you recommend? I'd like to try them out.

If nope, are there any good MMORPG for other tablets? I am just wondering. Not going to switch tablets at this point.

Not really in my opinions. MMOs belong on PCs and Consoles. With current technology, it is really hard for companies to make a good MMO for simple devices like tablets and mobile. It sucks, I know.

I know PCs are much more powerful than tablets, but the latest tablets are not too bad.

kindle Fire HDX for example, it has quad core 2.2GHZ CPU, with 2GB RAM.
I have tried some HD graphics games on it including First Person Shooter, Race Car, Sports, etc. they have comparable graphics with their PC counterparts, and I didn't feel any graphics lag or anything like that when playing.

I'm not sure if there is such thing as exclusive apps for tablets as from what I know, apps that can be used in tablets can also be used in smartphones, though there are exclusive apps for smartphones that can't be used in tablets. With that said, you might want to try Order and Chaos Online. I personally haven't played this game as I don't feel like playing MMO on my smartphone, but my friend play this game a lot on his Samsung Galaxy S4 and it does look like a nice MMO game, kinda similar to WoW.

I don't think you understand computer hardware. Sorry to be rude but what you have said is completely wrong. Show me anything like a PC AAA game (Metro, Crysis, Far Cry etc) on a tablet. You cannot compare CPUs like that. A desktop CPU based on x64 architecture cannot be compared to ARM tablet CPUs. That is wrong on so many levels

    @ Sidd230,
Contrary to your belief, I have been building PCs from parts since late 1990s. I know all about different CPU's clock speed can't be compared.

I also did not ask for AA or AF kind of graphics features in current tablet MMORPGs. MMORPGs do not need the same kind of graphics level as the latest most hardware intense FPS, especially on tablets during this stage. I don't even like Crysis and Far Cry etc. There are probably still more people playing CS1.6 than both of these games combined.

I wonder if you actually looked at some of the HD games on tablets. Some of them look good enough to me. They have far more realistic graphics than the cartoonish WOW on PC.

I don't even know if I'd want to play an MMO on a tablet. I'd imagine it'd be extremely laggy and just have too small of a screen to accommodate an MMO. Besides, need a mouse and keyboard to play. After all that, it just makes more sense to play on a normal laptop or desktop

    @ thejamal,
I am a hardcore PC gamer. Even I admit there are certain games play better on tablets with touch screen as user interface. (Those are the games I have tried on both PC and tablets).

I am sure some MMOs can be made into using touch screen as a superior user interface than using a mouse and keyboard. Although that's not my point. You can hook up mouse and keyboards onto certain tablets. Some tablets are powerful enough to play MMORPGs just fine...only if you have seen the level of graphics of some high end tablet games.

The best thing about being able to play MMO on tablet is the ability to play on the run. It's easier to carry around a tablet than carrying around a much heavier laptop.

Are you serious? MMOs require much more than graphic power. Most are extremely CPU intensive. ARM chips are not up to the mark of MMOs right now.

That is depended on what MMO we are talking about. If you want to talk about Lineage 2 type of castle siege with up thousands players crawling at one spot fighting each other, then I am sure the most powerful tablets on the market today can't handle it. If we are talking about some "lite" version of less intense MMORPGs, I am pretty sure the current tablets can handle it just fine.

The graphics of Asphalt 8 on HDX is amazing. The Sims on HDX plays just like on PC. Some first person shooter games could use mouse and keyboards in my opinion. With Chromecast, I could remotely control my TV from my HDX to play netflix movies or listen to Pandora musics. So far it works great for me. It is also much lighter than my ipad (1). Keep in mind that Kindle Fire HDX is arguable the most powerful tablet right now. Although I do hope there are more and better apps available. We are limited to Amazon appstore, until you root or sideload apps from other sources.

Sure there are, the problem is though, they are JMMOs and JRPGs, they are mostly in japan, you can get an emulator for the android OS and download roms like pokemon and kingdom hearts and play them on your console as you would on your DS...

I can't imagine there being a "good" mmorpg on a tablet, but I am sure there are many just basic rpgs that you can find in an app store. The closest I've come to a decent one on the iPad. I cannot remember the name of it for the life of me, but if you type in "dota 2" or "tower and defense" it will pop up. I found the game by accident this way.

The only way I could see it is using one that is geared more towards being a mini computer, like the Surface. At least with that you have a real keyboard and mouse to work with, others that I have seem just seem to fall short in this area.

Agreed. I can't see touch screen being practical. The game (I wish I could remember the name of it) I was playing on my old tablet was a terrible play through. It was all "poke-and-play."

I have to agree that a mouse and keyboard are pretty essential when it comes to these kind of games.

In my honest opinion, there are no MMOs for tablets even though they are labeled as such. Most "MMOs" I've played on tablets are just regular games with an online touch like seeing other players and such. It's hard to implement MMO mechanics on a tablet, it's just too limiting.

Hearthstone has turned out really well for Ipads though. Tried it the other day and it worked absolutely perfectly. That's the sort of online game that can be really supported through a tablet. Not something as expansive as an MMO

I think so too, I just can't even see a MMO really working on a tablet. Not the way we would want it to work anyway. The touch screen being one problem and the lagging being yet another. In concept, it sounds like a cool idea, but I just don't think it's out there yet.

Some games are in fact easier to play with a touch screen. For example: Plants vs. Zombies. Fruit ninjas. That's after I played the PC version of PvZ before I played the same thing on Kindle Fire. I found the touch screen is easier.

The same goes for all click based games. Anything you can play with just a mouse, it can be done with a touch screen.
